Patton hadn't been able to go back to sleep, and it was six am now. He decided he might as well get up and use the extra time to get a morning routine together. He grabbed a grey hoodie and tan coloured pants from his dresser, slowly sliding the drawer shut. He tip toed across the dorm, not wanting to wake Remus up. He took a moment to watch Remus sleep as he slowly opened the door, trying to explain away this strange feeling. "I'm just tired." He dismissed quietly before entering the bathroom. He slowly closed the door behind him, wincing at the small click it made when it closed."I don't have feelings for Remus. I'm just really nervous, and it was nice to get along with someone I thought I was going to have a hard time with. That's all." He assured himself as he went through his bathroom routine. "Remus is my best friend's weird brother, the guy that put a dead frog in my shoe when we were seven, the guy that drew marker on our face at sleep overs. Why would I have feelings for him?" He went on as he washed his hands and face.
"Okay, but this is feeling a lot like when I first met Dalton..." He sighed as he ran a large comb through his hair. "It's fine. Even if I did have feelings for Remus, which I definitely don't, it's not like Roman would play match maker this time. And Remus isn't exactly a charmer like Dalton was... Even if I could have feelings for him, which, I don't, I should be able to get through this." Patton insisted as he got dressed. "I'm starting to sound like Logan." He complained after pulling on his hoodie.
"Wait... I should probably wear something under this in case I get too warm." He realized as he adjusted his outfit to make it more comfortable. Patton groaned in annoyance at himself before leaving the bathroom to grab a shirt. He made sure to be quiet again as he tip toed to his bed and slid open a drawer, pulling out his Pac-Man shirt and bringing it back to the bathroom.
Once he was done with all of that, Patton got his school things together and put them into his backpack. He made sure he had his student card, meal card, and anything else he might need before carefully zipping his back shut. Every noise he made caused him to look at Remus, making sure he was still asleep. Then again, it was almost seven, should he wake Remus now?
He carefully pressed the power button on Remus's phone, which had been left on his night stand, and saw the little alarm clock icon that showed he had an alarm set. Patton clicked the button again, not turning the phone off but making the screen go black. Seeing that Remus would be woken up in time, he walked to the front door and quietly opened it. He pulled his back pack straps over both his shoulders so he could use his hands to carefully pull the trash bags out the door. "Shhhh." He said to the bags as the broken glass and metal within them clanged together. He managed to pull them out and close the door without any sign of waking Remus. With a sigh of relief, Patton picked up the bags properly and began to head down the hall.
After leaving the dormitory and dealing with the garbage, Patton entered the School of Education and headed to class. The halls were starting to become less empty as the time neared seven thirty, students waking up and heading to class. Patton decided to call Roman on his way to class, since Roman was usually up by now.
"Padre!" Roman cheered after picking up the phone. "How have you been? I hope my brother has been civil." Roman then asked. "Remus... He's been Remus... but we're getting along... How are you and Virgil?" Patton asked, not wanting to talk about Remus right now. "The Grim Reaper got mad at me for waking him up so early." Roman scoffed, causing Patton to giggle. "He should be thanking me for letting him use the washroom before I started my routine, I imagine he wouldn't like it much if he woke up while I was I the shower or doing my make up." Roman complained.
"How early did you wake him?" Patton asked, taking a moment to sit at a bench by a window looking into the courtyard. He had plenty of time before his first class so he figured he might as well take a break. "Six thirty. I've been in the bathroom for an hour now so he's probably gone back to sleep." Roman answered. "Poor thing." Patton sighed, as if he himself hadn't been up for most of the night. "Hey, I was being considerate." Roman defended. "I know." Patton dismissed with another giggle.
