Destined (Max + Jane + Fem Readers)

Part 9

The stairs creaked as someone carefully sneaked down trying terribly hard not to make a noise but failing. The figure walks around carefully before they spot someone sitting at the dining table, facing their back towards them. They slowly walked towards the person, a shadow starting to loom over them before...

"BOO!" The figure yelled startling y/n. 

Y/n froze for a moment before looking at the person who has oh so gratefully ruined her peace and solitude. El lifted up the blanket she tried to use as a ghost costume before giving you a toothy grin clearly proud that she was able to startle you. You sighed realizing there was no real danger until you heard a thud from across the room and saw an English textbook laying carelessly on the ground while Max clutched her stomach laughing.

"HAHA THAT'S THE BEST THING I HAVE SEEN IN A WHILE" Max continued to laugh as you and El both joined her.

"Real funny, but that will be a great Halloween costume for you El. It's really scary and intimidating." El looked at you with a twinkle in her eyes before smiling proudly at her accomplishments.

"Since Halloween has been brought up, I was wondering if I can go trick or treating with you guys. I want candy and eggos!" El said as she looked between you and Max waiting for an answer.

Max and you shared a glance before you shrugged since there won't be much harm for her to come if yall were more careful. 

"Sure you can come, but you have to remember not to use your powers at all or show anything proving that you have powers or Papa will find us. But for the time being, Hopper will come around to check up on you when I and Max are at school." El eagerly nodded and kissed your cheek before taking her costume and walked over to the couch and tryed to improve on it.

You were shocked before your face started to heat up making you a bit flustered. Max watched the interaction sadly as a pit started to form in her stomach but she quickly tried to shake it away. 

She looked at the time realizing you both will be late for school and ran to get both of your skateboards.

"Y/n hurry up we are going to be late, and didn't you want to properly introduce me to the stalkers?" You walked over to her and grabbed your skateboard from her hands muttering a thanks as you both started to rush out of your house.

"OH AND EL DON'T FORGET HOPPER WILL BE COMING IN A FEW MINUTES, DON'T OPEN THE DOOR FOR ANYONE ELSE! ALSO, THERE ARE STILL LEFT OVER EGGOS IN THE FREEZER BYE-" El looked up from her costume to notice the door close before she was alone then shrugged and continued to work on her costume while humming a tune.

So sorry for such a late update, I genuinely had no idea what to write anymore. I don't know why this chapter is so short :'). I hope you guys enjoyed though, there will possibly be a new chapter that will be longer in at least two weeks. But at this point yall know its going to come out in 2023.
