The Ball

Elena's Point of View:

I walked through the door massive double doors before handing my wrap to the doormen. The mansion was magnificent. I looked around before making eye contact with Damon, who soon came out of his thoughts and walked over to me. I am invited after all so he was not one to question what I was doing here.

"What are you doing here?" I sighed.

Stefan walked to the other side of me. "I could ask you the same thing."

Damon rolled his eyes, "Surprise, surprise. Nice tux. You're not supposed to be here." He was rather angry and disappointed.

I sighed, while taking both their arms, "Well, I am. And I'm not leaving until I find out what Esther wants. So, shall we?" I am not leaving until I have seen Kol. Both the Salvatores walked around with me so that I wouldn't go wondering off to Esther. I just wanted to see Kol, no one else.

I excused myself, and wondered outside to the nearby woods.

"What are you doing out here by yourself, darling? Someone could hurt you." He said, pinning to me to a tree, his lips dangerously close to mine.

I was completely breathless, my heart was racing and I could barely speak. The things he did to me without touching me was unexplainable.

"I was just admiring the scenery." I smirked.

He smirked back before smashing his lips into mine, and tangling his hands in my hair. I moaned into the kiss before wrapping my arms around him, pulling his body closer to mine. He pressed his body against me causing me to moan again. He smirked, and I punched him playfully, before continuing to kiss him. He moved his hands down my body, to my waist, pulling me to him. I smiled, and started to remove his jacket but he stopped me.

"Now now darling, wouldn't want anyone finding out would we? I quite like it, us, being secret." He smiled, brushing his lips against mine.

I nodded, "Me too." I stated before pulling him close and kissing him.

He kissed back but pulled away. "Darling..." He said huskily, "Let's wait until tonight. I am very tempted to rip this dress of your body right now and I am just about holding myself together."

I bit my lip and smiled. "Then do it." He moved his lips closer but growled as he pulled away. I smiled and pecked his lips. "Don't forget, tonight. Wickery Bridge." I blew him a kiss, and he winked back before heading back to the party.

I went back inside, hoping no one was wondering where I vanished too. I mingled with a few people who lived locally before seeing Elijah walk up the stairs. He waited patiently, while his siblings joined him.

Elijah seemed a little nervous, "Uh, if everyone could gather, please."

Finn raised his voice a little louder which caught everyones attention, "Excuse me."

Elijah nodded slightly at Finn, to say thank you while everyone gathered.

Elijah continued to talk, "Welcome, thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance."

Esther appeared on the stairs, making Damon more curious.

"Do you see who I see?" Damon asked Stefan.

Stefan nodded, "Oh, yeah."

Elijah continued his speech, "Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if you could please find yourselves a partner. Please join us in the ballroom."

Esther silently makes her way back upstairs and I make my way to the stairs before Damon stands in front of me.

"Don't even think about it." He growled. Kol must have heard the growl because he was glaring at Damon.

I sighed. "She wants to see me alone, Damon."

Damon glared at me, "Well sucks to be her then. Was I not clear this morning?"

I sighed, again, "I was invited."

Damon moved closer to me, and lowered his voice, "You have to tell me before you walk into a lion's den."

I rolled my eyes at him, "Why so that you can stop me?"

Damon gave me the 'are you kidding look', "Uhh...yes!"

He sighed and extended his hand, "It would be rude not to dance, you know."

I took his hand and sighed, while looking at kol in a 'help me' way. "It is tradition." Kol smirked and went to find a dance partner.

[Wickery bridge.]

I sighed, I laid down on the grass. I was waiting for Kol to turn up. I jolted up when I heard a twig snap. Who could that be?

"Who's there?!" I shouted. I hoped it wasn't Kol playing tricks on me.

"Kol, it better not be you playing tricks on me!" I shouted again. I got up and went to look around. I felt arms wrap around my waist and pull me back. I gasp and struggle a little before realising who it was.

"Darling." Kol said, pretending to bite my neck. I let out a soft moan before turning towards him and playfully hitting him.

"Kol! You scared the crap out of me!" I pouted.

He just smiled and kisses me softly. I wrap my arms around his neck and deepen the kiss.

"Mm...lets get out of here..." I mumble against his lips. He smiled and took me to his car.

He smirked and opened the door for me. I got in and put my seatbelt on. Kol got in the drivers seat and drove off. We were going to spend some quality time together at my lake house.
