Elena's Point of View:

I laid on my bed. It has been 20 minutes since Kol said to meet him round the corner in 10 minutes. I decided to go for a jog, so I got up and got ready. I jogged for what seemed like hours, even though it had only been half an hour, until the peace got interrupted by a phone call from Sheriff Forbes. I jogged to the police station and bumped into Damon.

I frowned, "Were you just..?"

Damon sighed, "Ric's fine. Sheriff wants me to stay out of it."

I rolled my eyes, knowing Damon, "But you're not going to. Are you?"

Damon shrugged, "Seems just as good a plan as any."

"Your friend's in jail for murder. You have to do something."

Damon thought about it for a little, "Well, I guess I could rip our Dr. False Accusation's throat. Maybe her tongue. You know, I could chew it up into little tiny pieces and feed it to the squirrels."

I was getting annoyed now, "Stop it, Damon!'

He pulled a fake smile, "Guess me staying out of it suddenly sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? I saved your life last night. You're welcome."

I rolled my eyes again, "You know, you could show a little compassion about Bonnie."

Damon smirked, "I know, you're right, her and her mom must be really hurting right now. Should I send lasagna?"

"Okay, now you're just being mean."

Damon just held his arms up, "I'm mean, you hate me, the Earth is back on its axis."

I start walking away before turning towards him, "You know if you keep pushing people away, you're gonna end up alone." And I left, without letting him reply.

I went home, and took a shower. Everytime, I would end up thinking how Kol stood me up last night. Like, what was that? I sighed, and wrapped a towel round my body. I laid on my bed, and held my towel close.

"I'm sorry darling..." Kol was standing at the end of my bed.

I sighed and sat up, "You couldn't have rang and said 'plans have changed' or is that impossible for you?"

He sighed and sat down, "If I left at the time I did, it would have been very obvious."

"Fine." How was I forgiving him that easily?!

"How about we escape now? Run away to wherever the road takes us?"

I nodded, "Lets go, and never come back."

He smiled, "Are you ready?"
