Trap 2

Lourdes rattles when she hears the familiar whistle. She comes out where she is hiding and sees the agent. She runs towards her and hugs her so tight.

I thought something had happened to you when I heard the explosion. Lourdes said while hugging her.

I told you, I will be fine and meet you here. She said hugging her back.

The woman pulled back and saw her face, she got so worried when she saw the blood from the cut she got when she landed on her face.

You're bleeding. Ohh God. Lourdes said.

Relax, it's just a cut and nothing serious. Let's go. Blue said pulling her by her waist.

They drove silently.

Her phone rang.

Where are you?. Nova's voice sounded worried.

Gonna be there at 30. She is safe. She is with me. She replied.

After she listened to Nova about what happened, she put the pieces together and came up with a theory that the team going to batangas was a distraction.

Their goal was to come to where we are. This is questionable Boss, how come they know where we are and who tip us their location?. Blue said looking puzzled.

Lourdes listening intently.

It's just the three of them in the room. They met at the department but no one saw them except Nova. Blue used the secret elevator specially made for the Boss. She and Nova have the only access.

Alpha leader. Nova replied.

Are you sure?. He is one of the best we have. He proves many times that we can count on him. Blue said.

That's what I said to myself too, when I receive the info I ask the tech guy to verify and make sure it's legit. The leader knocks on my door saying that the tech guy told him to tell me that the information was indeed legit. He reasoned out to me and said that he will lead the team, I double checked if it's really accurate and yes, it was. I organized the raid and commanded everyone to their designated roles. When we arrived there I got this feeling, you know that I never doubted my instinct. Right there and then I know it's a trap, too late for me to notice it. It was so easy, like we were just going into some kind of gathering, the place was so quiet. It was all my fault for trusting someone who out of nowhere volunteered to lead my team. Nova said with regrets.

It was not your fault and you know that. We just have the wrong kind of people around us. Remove the task force. We don't need them, put them back to where they belong. Bring back the original Alpha team, alongside us. Blue suggested.

Original Alpha team?. Lourdes interrupted. Looking at Nova and Blue.

The original Alpha team consist of five people. Blue, Alyssa, Barbara, Cara and me. We establish this department after we graduated at the academy. They want me to lead since I could not endure being in the field. The four of them fought alongside each other. They conquered many mission together, inside and outside the country. They are my Elite Agents. The best ones. The Alpha. Nova proudly said but sadness is visible in her tone.

Where are the others?. Lourdes curiously asked. She knows them, they are with Blue eversince.

Radio Zero. Nova replied.

Before Lourdes could ask what's the meaning of what Nova said, Blue interrupted.

Radio Zero is when the Agent choose to distant herself from the department after a tragic mission that invovles a teammate. Any forms of contacts, name everything you can think of, they will cut it all. We believe that we are the one to blame if our teammate is hurt. It's like a self form of punishment. Blue explained.

Does it mean one of you was hurt before?. Who was it?. Lourdes asked. She don't know why her heart was pounding against her chest hard. It's like she knows that it's Blue who got hurt before.

It was Blue. Nova timidly said.

Lourdes gasped in shocked. Her suspicious were confirmed.

What happened?. Please tell me. She begged.

Nova looked at Blue for permission. The Agent nodded.

This happened 5 years after we established the department. They were on their way to their mission in saving a girl kidnapped by a notorious group. Icons. Same group who is after you now, the four of them out on their own. Equipped with highly functional weapons and gadgets for combat. They located the girl in Malaysia. They carefully planned everything making sure not to commit mistake in recovering the subject. Got in successfully, blended amongst the enemy. Taking them down one by one. Unfortunately one of them was recognized by the leader, and was captured too. She told the group that let the girl go in exchanged of her. They just laughed. Beats the Agent and the girl simultaneously. Bruises everywhere, broken ribs and swollen face. The 3 of them watch in horror but their teammate signals them not to interfere. After that nonstop beating the group receives a distress call that made them leave the two fo a while. The 3 secretly hides and when the group was gone they hurriedly go to the two to untie them. Freeing them from the chain. They manage to do it. Painfully dragging the two away from the place, they did not notice that few of the group stayed outside the building and saw them. They furiously runs to them and fires gunshot at them. The beaten agent pushing her teammates away and grab Alyssa's gun and fires back at the goons. Cara and Barbara fires too. One man manage to find a blindspot and aims at Alyssa, Cara and Barbara. The bruised Agent saw it and quickly jumps infront of them, catching the bullets. One fire hit the man in the head. Blue collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. She was in coma, three months before she woke up. The three was already gone. Guilt overpowering them. Nova painfully recalled.

Lourdes crying upon hearing it.

Who was the girl?. She asked about the kidnap victim.

It was me. Nova replied.
