Do's and Don'ts

"Shut your mouth, Percy. Your embarrassing yourself." I said dismissively, turning the corner.

"But I totally can." Percy, my best friend, shot back. That best friend also happens to be the Prince of Atlantis.

"Is that a challenge?"

"You bet."

I laughed and stuck my tongue at him. Percy copied me.

"Hey! Copycat."

Percy just shoved me. I shoved back just as we entered the massive dining hall in the castle. Percy half-tripped down the short staircase and I snorted. When we looked up, I saw that the entire Royal family was already there. Sally and Paul shared a look as we headed to our seats.

"Hi, Stella." I said, tapping Estelle's head. Estelle ignored me, and continued begging Sally to serve the food. Sally nodded as I sat down next to Estelle, looking around. But she frowned when she saw Tyson. I followed her gaze and saw Tyson completely in another world.

He was looking at his lap intently.

I quietly chuckled to myself when I saw the move. It was one of my personal favorites. Hiding the book on my lap.

"Tyson," Sally scolded, "No books at the table." Tyson frowned, but closed the book and put it aside.

After I helped Estelle cut her food, and served my own, I reached over to the other side of the table and stole the book Tyson was reading. A Walk to the Moon by Edward Schwicher. Hmm. I peeked at the back but Percy leaned over and said in a high-pitched voice that was very unlike his mother's, "No books at the table, Anna." I scowled and closed the book.

I'm sorry, I am getting away from myself. I'm Annabeth Chase, a two in the caste system. I am currently 17 years old and live in the castle with the Royal family. My family is complicated, because my stepmother Helen absolutely despises me, my twin stepbrothers Bobby and Matthew Chase are the exact opposite of their mother, my dad is too busy to pay attention to anyone, and my mother is dead. But I have an older half-brother, Malcolm. He works here at the castle. Enough about my life. Well, the messed-up history of it anyways.

"So Tyson, 'A Walk to the Moon' really?" Tyson looked up from his food, scrunching his eyebrows, "Yeah. Not something I thought I would pick up this morning." I nodded, taking another bite. "And you finished 'The Illiad'?"

"Again." Percy muttered quietly. I flicked him and motioned for Tyson to speak.

"Yes!" Tyson gushed, "I love it! Even though I have read it, like, for the tenth time already." He added, glaring at his brother.

"Hold up." Sally said, "You can both go into bookworld for the rest of the day-"

"Can't." I said. Sally raised her eyebrows.

"I promised Seaweed brain over here that I would do something with him." I nudged Percy. "As much as I want to."

Sally sighed. "Well then, Paul?"

Paul looked up, startled. "Um, yes. Okay, we have meetings and preparations to do all day today, so try not to bother us." It might of been just me, but that statement seemed to be directed at Estelle. I sighed. Like the five year old would listen.

Tyson seemed to be bothered by the silence. "Perce? What were you and Annabeth arguing about?" Percy nearly choked on his food. I grinned and sang, "No idea. Probably somethin' stoooopid." (I love you if you get this reference/tell if you know what it is from!!Hint:Not a book.)

Tyson looked down at his food, muttering, "They don't even know what they are arguing about. Daily arguments!" He then excused himself.

"Hey, Mom?" Percy managed to say, he was still trying to compose himself. "What are the preparations for?" It was Sally's turn to choke. Seriously, what is it with these Jacksons and choking on their food?
