Yanna must've felt like she was in the clouds. She loved the velocity like it was the purest heroin in existence. She sped past the junk plain at crazy speeds! Past the broken traffic light, the big rig, and finally the junk pile we built at the end of the plain as a warning for us to stop. I suddenly had a terrible realization. She was supposed to brake at that checkpoint.

Her brakes must be busted!

I slid into a sprint, but just as I started running it was too late. She crashed into a junkpile and flew off the bike into the garbage.
Please let her be okay and please let that bike be in one piece.

Yanna's POV
What the hell just happened?

One second I was cutting through the air like a bullet and the next I'm covered in shit and trash. "Yanna!" A voice called. Then it all came back to me. The brake was jammed and I flipped off as I hit a wall of junk. "Rain! I'm okay but the bike is totaled!" I yelled. "Shit! Can you get up?" Rain asked, now stopping at the edge of the pile. "Yes I think I can pull myself out but I mi-"

What the fuck is that

As I turned my head looking for things to climb on, I saw a glowing piece of strange metal lodged in the junk.

"Yanna what the hell happened? Are you ok?!" Rain asked with concern. "There's something weird in here!" I exclaimed. I extended my arm and grabbed the strange object.
"Here! I'll pull you up!" Rain said, reaching her hand down toward me. "Thanks, Rain," I said as she pulled me up, "Check this out." I held the strange object in my hand and presented it to Rain. It was small, about the size of a fist, and shaped similarly to a seed. It had what looked like veins running through it that were pulsing a green light and seemed to radiate a kind of queer energy. "Is that what you were talking about?" Rain asked. "Yup," I replied, "Any idea what this is?" They shook their head.

Damn. What is this thing?
