Extended Summary
Twenty-one year-old Mayflower "Flo" Whitaker is a bonafide city girl and gifted dancer on a Juilliard School scholarship. Her world takes a nosedive when she's called back to Vermont to attend her father's funeral. Three years isn't a long time for a place like Montpelier — everyone remembers everything, nothing changes and the town is venal to its core. It's a harsh reality that she's lived with all those years ago in high school.
When she crosses paths with an all too familiar face, she starts to realize that everything has changed. Lies unravel and secrets resurface, reminding her of the reason why she left in the first place. Her father's sudden death is more than just a grievance, it's the beginning of a reckoning.
This is a story about rediscovery, redemption and finding love in the unlikeliest of places.
