~TeruTeru's POV~
Hiyoko was the first one to speak, "What in the hell do you guys think you're doing here?!" Soda scoffed and rolled his eyes, "wouldn't you like to know, short stack." She growled, "Of course I want to know! We girls are celebrating Mahiru's Birthday today and none of you were invited!" Taka immediately chimed in, "Happy Birthday Mahiru! How old are you now?" Mahiru smiled and stepped closer, "I'm 18 now!" Taka nodded, "Ah! The big age of adultery! Happy 18th Birthday!! I hope you've been having a good day so far?" Mahiru nodded her head and thanked Taka. Everyone was still in shock, but it was less shocking now that Taka and Mahiru broke the tension. Nagito got up and started to make another big sized party table, on the opposite side of the boys.
Mondo, Nekomaru, Akane, and Sakura started to help Nagito out. Once the table was fully set, all the girls sat down and stared at the boys, who then stared at me, which made the girls stare at me. I gulped and nervously chuckled. "A..alright. Give me a few minutes everyone..", I said as I sped away to the kitchen. I decided to make a sign saying "Closed: Two private Parties in session." then hurriedly placed it outside the diner door. I then went back into the kitchen, pulled out 46 menus and gave everyone a menu. I sighed and stood between the two parties and slightly smiled as I held my pen and paper, "Okay, who's going to start their orders first?"
Hiyoko was, again, the first to speak. "US! Girls go first! Plus it's Mahiru's birthday! Let us go first!", she screeched. Soda spoke up right after her, visibly upset, "Well tough luck because WE have been here longer. We deserve to order our food first! The boys have been waiting patiently for this moment!" Hiyoko stuck her tongue at Soda, who rolled his eyes and then proceeded to do the same. I chuckled nervously as there began to form a huge fight between who should get to order first, the girls or guys. While I stood there, unable to speak up, I felt a tap on my head. I look up and see Kamade, who smiled brightly at me. "Oh, uhm..howdy...", I say nervously, avoiding eye contact with her.
She softly chuckled, "I know what all the girls want by the way. We all talked about it beforehand so I can tell you what they all want." I look up to her and smile, "why sure! That helps me a lot. Thank you!" Kamade then proceeded to tell me all of the girl's orders while the fight continued. Once she finished telling me everyone's orders, she slowly went back into her seat. Eventually, Nagito peered behind me, holding a notepad of every guy's orders. I softly thank him, and he shrugged, avoiding eye contact with me as he walked away. Thanks to these two, I sighed, relived that I can finally get started on the orders, so I walk to the kitchen as the fight seemed to not have died down.
The moment I stepped into the kitchen, I decided to get started ok everyone's beverages. "Every female will have a white tray, and every male will have a red one.", I murmured as I placed down all the trays, added 4 or 5 names to each tray as I turned on some music for me to listen to as I made everyone's drinks. I hummed as I placed the cups, mugs, and glass out, then poured each of the beverages in everyone's specific order. I then placed the trays of drinks onto 2 food carts, and pushed them out the door. Everyone seemed to be tired from the fighting, so I handed each one their drink. They took a sip of their drinks and sighed in relief.
I smiled as I stacked the empty trays onto one another, and pushed the carts back into the kitchen. Once I got back into the kitchen, I hummed as I started making everyone's food orders. First, I made the orders that take the longest, then let them cook as I made the easiest orders. Once all the food was done, I placed them back onto the trays and waltzed out the door with the carts, smiling as I placed everyone's hot orders in front of their faces. I then gave everyone their spoons, forks, and knives, also a set of napkins. Then I put some salt, pepper, and sugar packets in the middle of each pair of tables, I then stood in the middle of everyone and sighed. "Bon Appétit.", I said as I bowed, and headed back into the kitchen.
Once I got into the kitchen I sighed as I was placing all the trays away. I cleaned up the kitchen counter, the utensils, knives, bowls and plates. Then I washed my hands, drying them with a paper towel. I peer out of the small window from the kitchen door, seeing as everyone is enjoying their food. I smile when I see this, then pick up a stool from underneath one of the counters and sat down. I started to watch random videos on my phone, obviously with headphones on, to pass the time. While I was watching, I suddenly hear a faint knocking and look at the door. I perk up from the sound and turn off my show, took off the headphones and opened the door.
I was then greeted by Kamade. She had a warm smile on her face, one that could light up even the darkest of rooms. Seeing her smile was infectious; I smiled too. Why did I do that? When did I start smiling? I brush my thoughts to the side and cleared my throat, shyly looking away from her. "S-so..why'd you call me out of the kitchen?", I ask, only half-curious to hear the answer. "Well, I was thinking that since it's Mahiru's birthday, can you bake a beautiful red velvet cake with white frosting and chocolate sprinkles?", she said. I look back at her, then at the tables of students who were eating, but mostly talking, then looked back at her. She had this gleam in her eye, a spark of hope. I roll my eyes and slightly smile, "heh, alright. I'll try to finish it before everyone else is done."
Kamade gave me a big grin before she suddenly picked me up and hugged me tightly. My eyes widened as her chest was pressed against my face. She then let go of me, placed me down and apologized, "S-Sorry about that! I wasn't thinking straight! Did I startle you?" I chuckled as I fixed my hair, "Ah it's alright! Sure you startled me but I don't think you were doing so for any evil intent. You're a great friend to Mahiru, you even remembered her favorite cake flavor. Amazing." Kamade flushed a deep red the moment I complimented her on being a great friend. She then hid her face with her hair, "D-Do you mind me helping you bake the cake? It'd be a great way of apologizing.."
I looked at her, stunned. "You want to help me?", I said monotoned. She nodded her head and smiled, her courage coming back. I looked at everyone else, who wasn't paying any attention to either of us. I shrugged, "Eh, why not? Come on, let's go bake that cake for Mahiru!" Kamade giggled and clapped her hands, jumping up and down in joy. I chuckled and headed into the kitchen, she following suit. I laid out all the ingredients, all the utensils, bowls and measuring cups we will need. "Alright the most important step is to wash our hands before we get to cookin.", I told her, and she nodded, walking over to the sink. While she washed her hands, I walked over to my phone and put on some music for us to listen to while we baked, then started to wash my hands right after she washed hers.
"Alright, let's get to work.", I said.~After baking the cake..~
After we finished baking the beautiful red velvet cake, we slowly and carefully put it onto a glass cake dome, then put the dome onto a cart. As Kamade opened the door for me, I strolled the cake into the room. Everyone turned their eyes to me the moment they smelt the cake. It was a two tiered cake, the bottom half has white frosting shaped of hearts on the side, and white frosting dollops on the tops that had chocolate sprinkles on them. The top cake had melted frosting on the top and sides of it. It also had, "Happy Birthday Mahiru!!" signed on the top with black frosting, and some chocolate sprinkles all around.
Everyone eyed the cake in all its delicious glory. I smile and look back at Kamade, who held the cake knife. We all sang happy birthday to Mahiru clapping when we finished singing, and then let her pick the first slice. Once everyone got a slice of cake, they all enjoyed eating it, talking to one another about anything and everything, except me. The moment I see everyone enjoying the rest of their nights, I strolled the cart back into the kitchen and cleaned up the place, making it look nice and tidy before I washed my hands. I then pick up the last plate of cake, a sliver of cake, and ate it as I watched mindless videos with headphones.
It was silence, and people slowly drifted out of the diner..not even giving me a goodbye, or thank you for that matter...
