~3rd person POV~

Valentina and Marcus woke up to Marcuse's alarm.

Marcus had his and Valentina's phone chargers in his jacket pocket thinking that they might need them when they were in town and forgot to put them on their old apartment coffee table and Valentina was grateful for that.

Valentina didn't have any other clothes except her black skinny ripped jeans and an oversized sweatshirt with a sports bra underneath her knuckles were wrapped in wrist wrap because of her bruised knuckles, Marcus had his iconic beanie, baggy brown khaki pants, a dark red T-Shirt with a dark blue flannel over it as well as a black leather jacket to complete the look.

Marcus gave Valentina his flannel because she didn't want to wear her sweatshirt as he put on his leather jacket and put his phone in it along with Valentina's since she didn't want it to get stolen and his pockets were zip up.

they both made their way out of the apartment and onto the streets making their way to their new school courtesy of Marcus.

As they got to school they saw all kinds of kids looking toward them, Valentina tried to turn around but Marcus held the back of her shirt dragging her to their first hour which was math Valentina was really good in math at her old school she never really knew why it just came easier to her among other subjects and, to be honest, she had straight A's so Marcus couldn't understand why Valentina hated school so much it just confused him.

they got to the classroom and sat in the back as other students rolled in.

Valentina saw some people stare at Marcus blushing she just rolled her eyes she knew that Marcus was good looking but she just couldn't see him like that more like an annoying older brother.

The bell rang and a girl with long brown hair walked in and sat next to Valentina.

The girl turned her head and smiled at her holding out her hand.

"Hi! I'm Gwen Blake nice to meet you!" The girl Gwen said happily.

Valentina shook her hand.

"Hello I'm Valentina." then she pointed to Marcus "and he is Marcus." Valentina finished as Marcus waved.

Gwen was in awe of Valentina's accent it was strong and sounded cool to her.

"I love your accent! Where are you from?" Gwen asked excitedly.

"Russia," Valentina stated as she looked at the teacher who was now there luckily they didn't need to introduce themselves in front of the class.

Gwen's eyes went wide and she smiled excitedly

"That's so cool!" She said happily and looked back at the teacher as well.

Once the first three classes ended Valentina, Marcus, and Gwen who decided to tag along made their way to the lunch room and Gwen went to her friends not before saying goodbye to them.

before Valentina opened the lunchroom doors she stopped feeling a strong pull toward the room and took a deep breath leaning down which Marcus heard.

He stopped and looked at Valentina in worry.

"you ok?" He asked concerned.

"Yea just needed a breather," Valentina said.

Marcus looked at her still worried but let it slide and put his arm around her shoulder opening the lunchroom doors.
