I sat next to a singing Hartley and an annoyed Amy.

Amy and I had finally became friends, after months of attempting.

Flashback

"Oh no! I'm sorry! Silly me." I say ask I pretend to bump into Amy. She stops and looks at me then my items that I dropped on the ground. She looks back up at me and giggles and walks away.

"Hey, uh. Can you help me with something from class?" I ask Amy desperately as I follow her out of the classroom we were just in.
Amy stops to look at me. She rolls her eyes and looks at the worksheet in my hand. "Ew, school work. I don't pay attention." She says and just walks off.

Well, at least Amy finally notices me now.

Amy and I both listened to Hartley practice her singing. Hartley really wanted to be apart of this music group.

"Let's hear you sing Hartley." I say to her and this causes Amy to look up at Hartley as she got ready to sing to us.

She then starts to sing, Amy and It's mouths were wide open. When she stopped singing Amy and I both clapped for her. "Wow Hartley, when did you learn to sing like that!" I ask her amazed. "Yeah, Hartley. You're like a natural." Amy adds.

Hartley blushes at our comment and smiles widely. "Really! You guys think I'm good?" She asks very excitedly.

Amy and I both nod our heads like little kids. She just was that good.

"You know I used to be in a band. Back where I used to live." Amy says as she looks at the both of us.

"Am I the only one with no musical talent?" I say to them and I laugh in my head even though my name is song..

We all sat back down, I crossed my arms and huffed. I was slightly jealous because of how talented my two friends were.

Right when Amy was about to speak up one of the popular girls came walking up to us. I rolled my eyes as I saw her open her mouth to talk.

"Hey Hartley, new girl, and random." Gem says to us while looking at us individually as she says our 'names.'

We all gave her a fake smile. "Gem, my name is Amy and I've been here for at least a year.." Amy says back at her. Gem looks at her as if she is bothering her. "I see the problem here, you assume that I care." She replies back.

She then looks at me, "and what are you looking at me for? Gonna tell me your name too? Let me guess, Molly." She asks me and I scoff and uncross my arms. "And who are you again?" I ask her which causes Amy to laugh and Hartley to shift uncomfortably.

"Anyway, Hartley I heard you're gonna try out for the round up band. Good luck! I am too, hope nothing happens. Toodles" Gem says as she gives us all one last glance and leaves.

"God, I thought she would never leave. How could someone be nice and mean, pick one!" Amy says and I giggle. "You mean passive aggressive?" I ask her and she looks at me.

"Yeah I guess so, never thought of it." She adds.

Amy and I look back at Hartley and she starts to go on a rant. "Whenever I want something, Gem always comes in between my goals. Like during the school play, I wanted the lead and she got it instead of me! I guess I won't be getting the lead singer either!" Hartley says as she got up from her seat and took steps around the open seating area.

Amy gets up and comforts Hartley for once, I get up from my seat once Amy said "Just because Gem is auditioning doesn't mean you can't."

I walked over to the right side of Hartley since Amy was on her left. Hartley turns her head to look at me then back at Amy. "I'll try to not let it bother me, but ever since we competed against each other. I haven't been the same.." Hartley says and looks away from us.
