(A high seas adventure) part 2

(Cuphead's pov)

This is terrible! Y/n and Brineybeard got turned into stone. That beast took y/n and now the ship is destroyed. "Okay, high seas adventure over. Let's get outta here!" I yelled, mugman agreed and we begin running, until mugs stopped and looked at Brineybeard with a frown. He grabbed my handle and pulled me back, making me whine. "We can't just leave Cuphead, we promised Briney we'd help him. And we gotta find y/n" Mugman spoke, looking at me. "So your plan is what? Convince a dreaded sea beast that a big rock loves her, you're crazy!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening. "Maybe, but I made a promise and I'm gonna deliver these sweets" mugs replied, grabbing some rope. "You go in there and you'll never see Elder kettle or the cottage ever again" "we're never gonna see kettle or the cottage again anyway" my eyes shrunk, feeling irritated. "Well, you're on your own, buddy" mugs tied the role in a knot and wrapped it around Brineybeard. "What else is new?" Mugman began pulling the role, trying to move the pirate, but he couldn't. I couldn't bare to watch any longer, so I had no other choice but to help him. "Fine, I'll help" I said in boredom. "Okay! You get the head and I'll get the legs" mugs smiled. We began walking while holding Brineybeard, as we were trying to find the mermaid mugman noticed a starfish. "Ooh, look, a starfish" mugs voiced. Mugman wasn't looking where he was going and accidently tripped, dropping Brineybeard. He looked down and froze, seeing his legs snapped in half. "You broke his legs" I whispered, feeling stunned. "Uh, there's always glue" mugs said, seeing the ocean wash away his feet. Mugs looked around and snapped off some wood, placing them on Brineybeard's legs. "Ah! Good as new" mugman smiled widely. I hummed in response, not so sure about how he looks now. Mugman started sobbing, I frowned and patted his back. "Well, he's solid stone now. It's not like he was using 'em" I told him. "In fact, this might be a good time to call it a day" I was about to leave, when Mugman pulled me back again. "No way, we can't just leave Cuphead, We have a responsibility" mugman glared. "Great, we end up eaten or turned to stone. We'll all know whose fault it is" "look, you're the one who wanted a "high seas adventure" mugman slightly pushed me. "This is no time for the blame game"

"You started the blame game!" Mugman yelled. "It takes two to blame game!" "Yeah, and you started it!" "Who cares who-" I cut myself off when I heard growling. "Is it....her?" I asked nervously. Mugman turned his head to see a giant crab. "It's just a giant crab monster" mugman said, not really bothered about it. "Oh, is that all?" I smiled, we both then realised what is in front of us and screamed. We ran behind Brineybeard and saw it grab the sweets. "Hey! Those aren't for you!" Mugman spoke in anger. The crab hissed at him, while holding the sweets. "Give me back those sweets!" Mugman went up to the monster and started fighting it. Mugman won and forced the crab to place the sweets back and leave. The crab did was he was told and left, mugman grinned and placed the sword through his shorts, making them fall. Mugman quickly pulled up his pants and unexpectedly, I heard singing. I shush mugman and we followed the singing, whilst holding Brineybeard. It was cala maria and y/n, cala maria was singing and talking about herself. When she finished, she looked at y/n with a warm smile. "I have never seen anyone like you before dear, I wonder if you are just like me but with legs. A very beautiful gal like me-" she got interrupted when she heard clapping coming from behind her. She turned around and glared down at mugman. "Wow, you have a beautiful voice" mugman smiled and then saw her move closer. "Hi, Miss Cala maria, ma'am. My name is-"  "dinner,your name is dinner" she spoke, cutting him off. "Actually, my name is...oh, you're going to eat us" mugman frowned, seeing Cala maria looking down at him with her arms crossed. "Well, if you're gonna eat us, then I'm gonna tell you why we came here." Cala maria groaned, feeling annoyed already. "This stone loves you" "yeah, it's love on the rocks" cuphead laughed. "Get it?" "Not helping" mugs looked at Cups. "Kid, I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about" cala maria shrugged. "Look, he even brought this for you" mugman showed her the sweets, making her look at them in surprise. "A gift? Wow, no one has ever given me a gift before. What is it?" She asked, pointing at it. "See for yourself" mugman opened it and immediately gagged, when he looked at what was inside. "I'm so sorry, I thought they were sweets" "they are! Oh! He even brought my favourite, Squid livers" she grabbed the squid liver and chewed it, me and Mugs looked away in disgust.

"Mm, what a sweet gesture. Too bad I turned him into stone" she kissed Brineybeard's head and looked back at me and Mugs. "Now, where were we? Ah, yes" she quickly turned evil, roaring loudly. We whispered and thought this was the end for us, when she felt Brineybeard shaking. He broke out of the stone and fell, groaning, Cala maria gasped. "Hey, these ain't me legs!" Brineybeard spoke. "I'm sorry! I dropped you and shattered your legs! I'm a terrible person!" Mugman cried. "Are ya kidding? Most pirates have one peg leg, and I got two!" He danced around while Cala maria was looking at him in confusion. "No one has ever un-stoned themselves before" she said. "It's cause I love you, baby" cala maria turned him into stone again, not liking what he called her. "Don't call me baby" she mumbled. Brineybeard un-stoned himself again and smiled warmly at her. "Understood" while Brineybeard and Cala maria was talking, I quietly ran up to y/n, trying to find a way to help her. I thought about what Cala maria did with Brineybeard, this was the only way and I'm hoping it will work. I blushed, looking behind me to see Mugman, Briney or Cala maria not looking. I turned back to y/n and kissed her, I felt my face heating up, as the liquid inside my head started to bubble. I pulled away and frowned, seeing that it hasn't done anything. I was about to ask Mugman for some ideas, when I heard loud cracking. I looked back and saw y/n un-stoned herself. I smiled brightly and hugged her tightly, feeling glad that she was back. Y/n blushed and hugged me back, smiling softly at me. "But I'm afraid I must eat you and your crew now" cala maria grinned. "Ah, how about I give you a ten-second head start though," "what did she say?" I asked, walking up to Mugman with y/n following behind. "she said she was gonna eat us" we then yelled and I pulled y/n closer to me. "Squawk! Run for your lives! Run for your lives!" We began running as fast as we can, not looking back. "Look, there's the ship! Hurry!" I said, we sprinted up to it and stopped when Cala maria showed up. "We'll never escape" Brineybeard, shouted. "She's so good at what she does" Mugman looked at the sweets and snatched them off Briney's hands. "Hey, lady! You want this?" "My sweets!" She gasped. "Then go get it!" Mugs threw the sweets far away for her to get them. We watched her swim away and we rushed up to the ship and hopped on. "No, no, no, no! We're stuck on the rocks!" Mugs said with worry. "What're we gonna do?" Cups questioned. You were panicking and hugged Cuphead for comfort, Cup head hugged you back shaking like a leaf. Brineybeard blew a kiss towards cala maria and she smiling, blowing a kiss back. The wind blew the ship, making it unstuck, you held onto the ship scared of letting go. "Mugman, thank ye, ye came th rough on a promise to a pirate. Know what that makes ye?" "What?" Mugs asked. "A real pirate!" Mugman smiled, looking over at you and Cups. "Ya hear that guys? I'm a real pirate!" Cuphead couldn't hold on much longer and let go, yelling loudly. "Well, looks like he finnaly got his high seas adventure!" Brineybeard laughed.
