------------When I got on the bus, all my confidence had vanished. I didn't have an empty seat to sulk in. Every seat was taken. As I wandered down the aisle looking for a seat with only one person, I suddenly felt self conscious and aware of my surroundings. "Hurry up! We haven't got all day!" the bus driver barked. An enthusiastic looking girl signaled at me to sit next to her. I anxiously slid into the seat next to her. "Hi, I'm Renee Heartfield and you are?" she said. "My name is Julie Evangalista, I'm new here." I proclaimed. "Yay! I looove to show new kids around! You are going to love Lex High! Are you in your senior year? I am!" she gushed. "Yes." I said. "Oh my

gosh. We are going to be best friends! Aren't you excited?!"

"Uh huh" I mumbled half-heartedly

Yeah. Great. Going to be spending my last year with this annoying, talkative kid.

Renee didn't notice my dispair. " I'm gonna show you all my friends."

" I can make you popular like me." she said

"But-" I started

"We will have so much fun!" she laughed

"No than-" I tried to say

"Do you not have any dresses. That is okay, I'll lend you some." she interrupted

"Ren-" I said

"We're gonna have a blast at all the parties, and.... oh yes! Meet some boys!" she continued.

"Renee!" I all but screamed. That got her attention. " I really appreciate this and all but......" That's when I noticed the bus was silent. Everyone was staring at me. "Oops." I said with a little laugh. "I think you spoke a little too loud." she whispered. I smiled at this girl. I think we were going to do fine together. We could become good friends. As everyone returned to their usual chatter, we looked at each other, grins inching their way across our faces. We collapsed into a fit of giggles. I had to bite my tongue to stop giggling so hard. Bad choice. My tongue was burning. Aaaaaaah! Help, help, help! Oh- gasp*, My- gasp*, Gosh! I think I'm gonna die. Tell my father I loved him, and that he can have my secret stash of Lay's chips under the loose, third tile in my bedroom.......and that I was the one who stole his gold tennis trophy for show and tell, and that I was the one who broke it afterwards. The next door neighbor's dog didn't break it. In fact, they don't have a dog. I just made the dog up to blame the her for my mistakes. Whoops.
