Chapter 4 - Why?

-

***Chaeyeon/Jihoon's POV***

It has gone a month since I stepped inside this building already, and I've been observing a lot so far. And I still haven't gotten that much information about Mr. Gyo. However, I'm sure I'll succeed if I find information about him. It's two weeks till the talent contest, and I've decided not to join. While they're all busy watching and performing I could look for some information and evidence.

But there has been something I've noticed about the boys I've hung out with after chatting here and there. There were two groups. They unfortunately were rivals. The 1st group contained Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Xiumin, Lay, Chen, D.O, Suho and Sehun. While the other group was Kai, Kris, Tao and Luhan. The two groups were rivals. But I haven't gotten the reason why, was it because of studies or music? Or something else?

And Chanyeol has been extremely quiet and grumpy since two days ago. He has been in a bad mood, and kept scolding me, even though I did nothing. And he keeps cursing in his sleep. What was in his mind really? However I haven't planned on asking him anyways, it might be for personal reasons.

"Jihoon, do you want to stroll outside a bit? I want some fresh air." Chanyeol asked unexpectedly. We were currently in our room, reading some articles as homework. He was standing by my desk, while looking at me with his tired eyes. He didn't look as cheerful as usual.

"Alright." I answered him, he nodded and grabbed his jacket. I put on my jacket as we both locked the door. We made our way outside, Chanyeol led me to the garden I usually went to. However the atmosphere seemed different this time.

It was currently 5PM, school had ended. There were people here and there. The garden was wonderful, it was filled with flowers such as roses and lilies. But my favorite among them was the blue and pink hydrangea flowers. The trees were starting to turn green. After a few seconds of enjoying the scenery. Chanyeol looked at the flowers while sighing. "Are you okay, Chanyeol?"

"Hm?" He sounded flustered. However our eyes locked for a while. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. Maybe I shouldn't probe too much. He might not be comfortable talking to me yet. "I just... Something keep haunting me."

"Haunting you?" I asked, curiosity starting to appear again. He nodded. What? A ghost from the horror movies we've watched lately? However I shook that thought away. Chanyeol heaved a deeper sigh.

"A dream. Well, it was just something I've always been regretting that I didn't do. And I wonder if Sehun regrets as well." He explained, looked down at his shoes. I nodded, I understood him. I've always regretted things I didn't do when I was young. But Sehun? I was starting to grow really curious, but I don't think he wanted to talk about it. So I decided to ask him about something else.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked while fiddling my thumbs behind my back. Maybe this could drift him away from those dreams that are haunting him. Chanyeol nodded and looked at me. "Why are you guys so against Kai?"

It was silent for a while. Chanyeol didn't know what to say, he opened his mouth several times, attempting to say something. Until he was done thinking, he was able to talk normally.
