chapter 3 edited

I went back home, crazy with being worried about what would happen tomorrow. I didn’t trust Luke-- I didn’t know him. I guess everything happens for a reason. I hoped something good was waiting behind all this.

It was 9 o’ clock, and I had made dinner for dad. I was not in a mood to eat, so I skipped it. Now I was in my room, watching some television.

At the back of my mind, thoughts were threatening to explode. Among all that, there were flashes from the past, and memories that I hadn’t forgotten. Maybe you’re all wondering why I quit dancing. Trust me, in that moment, I was too.

I loved dancing. I mean, I could dance for ages without being interrupted. It made me happy. But one moment ruined all the happiness that dancing ever gave me.

Back in London, I was a normal girl—a normal girl with a dream. And my only dream was to dance and be a choreographer. I was in a dance group, and we were a great team.

I had a boyfriend named Jake. He was the only guy I could love. He made me feel happy, beautiful.

All my friends in London thought that we were both going to get married. No one knew when, but it was always thought of as a certain event—we were that crazy in love.

But one moment changed everything and ruined our relationship.

We all were rehearsing for the school event, which was huge in London. The chairman of Dance University was going to select some of us to get a scholarship to their college. It was a huge deal.

The day of our performance came too soon. Jake and I had a little duo together, which everyone was waiting for.

But before that, I got an urgent message from someone I didn’t know, asking me to meet them in a classroom.

I went there, and instantly, the door got locked on the outside.

I shouted for help, for someone to open the door, but nothing happened.

After a long struggle, I climbed out of the window and went to the main hall where the event was happening.

I was shocked at what I saw. It felt like someone had hit me with a hot rod. Jake and Kristen were dancing together. They were performing on the song I was supposed to be doing with Jake.

I ran to our dancing teacher, asking what was going on there. But he shrugged me off, completely ignoring me.

Then it hit me that Kristen’s dad was the school trusty. She wanted to grab attention, and all the people had to follow the order. But seeing Jake completely normal about the whole situation broke me.

I rushed backstage; nobody was talking to me. They were all giving me sympathetic looks. In that moment, I knew there was something more I didn’t know about this story.
