"Torches, crowbars, raincoats, cameras, masks, and phones," Betty said as she listed them.

"What else do we need?" Everyone thought as the TV continued to play.

"It seems like that is everything we need," Kiki replied.

"Yeah, maybe a pocket knife," I replied as I grabbed three, placing them next to the torches.

"You're cool to stay the night, Kiki?" My girlfriend asked.

"If that's okay with you guys, you might be doing something special," she replied as Betty, and I laughed, saying it was perfectly okay to stay.

Time ticked by as we tried to pull all the evidence from Mary's disappearance to solve more. We created a board with pictures connecting with different coloured strings against my lounge wall.

"The police stopped a black van matching the description straight after it happened," spoke Kiki.

"Yes, but why did they let it go straight after?"

"There must have been another person or vehicle that helped," I replied as ideas swirled inside my mind.

"Maybe they stopped, transferring her to another vehicle, then used the van as a distraction?" Betty spoke as the TV kept playing.

I walked over, grabbed the remote, and pressed mute, so we could ask Mary what had happened.

"Mary, were you awake or conscious when inside the van?" Kiki asked as Mary's presence felt closer.

"Knock," she replied, coming from in front of us as they looked at each other, nodding.

"Okay, so the van sped; they knocked Mary out, put her in another vehicle, and drove to that house while the police were stuck in the empty van." Betty rambled as it seemed perfectly plausible.

"Bear, you're a genius; let's come up with a couple more possible solutions for tonight," I replied, kissing her on the forehead, causing a rush of happiness.

She felt a sudden chill as icy hands wrapped around Betty's chest. We laughed as we knew Mary was hugging her back.

"Did the police give up on the case? And not find any evidence?" Kiki exclaimed.

We thought it could be that but doubted the police would give up. After another hour, we devised a plan to search the house and find the truth. We will attack if we see or come into contact with the figure.

"Will they think we are crazy if we find all the evidence and proof?" Betty asked, slightly worried.

"Hopefully not; we need to solve this for Mary, Hank, and Morgan," I replied; we all were on the brink of the most significant event of our lifetime.

Kiki fell asleep first as she slept peacefully in the spare bedroom.

"Bear, thank you for taking us there," I exclaimed as we both got ready for bed, pulling back the covers.

"It's my pleasure. I'm scared of what we might find", She replied, slightly nervous.

As we lay on the bed, hugging and comforting her, it still felt cold as Mary was somewhere in the room.

"I am here every step of the way, and so is Kiki," I responded, kissing her forehead.

"Okay, I love you," she responded, tucked in my arms.

"I love you too. Goodnight, Mary; try to get some sleep if you can", I responded as she knocked twice.
