The Mansion

Chapter 2

1 Month Later.

I saw the rich people again. What were they doing here? Benjamin was out on a walk with Ann Lilly was taking a nap and the victrola was going off well James was just sleeping on the couch I didn't know what to do so I hid Lily and James in the attic and i turned off the victrola right before the rich people came inside. i then stood right in front of the men and said,

"Hello gentlemen I'm sorry but why are you barging into the orphanage?"

They stood astonished before saying,

"I'm sorry madam but this building is registered as a house not as a public residence so I have to tell you to leave in the next 30 days."

I paused and thought then pleaded saying.

"We only have five orphans and they need homes if you don't mind can we live in the attic until we all get adopted by loving families. We don't have the money to pay rent but we can do our own laundry cooking and heating. They all deserve loving families with nice parents who will educate them and care for them."

The man nodded shaking my hand in agreeance. He then said that we need to move all material objects that belong to us before the end of the day. i nodded and then got Lily and James to help me. We all got everything up in the attic before Benjamin and Ann got back. I then told them what happened and Ann told me I did the right thing. I was really sad that we lost our house but i was glad I still had a home.

We had to stay all cooped up in the attic thats when I was glad that Ann had finally asked me to do some shopping. Ann gave me the money and told me to go get food and only food. The first place i went to was the bakary. When I walked in there were all these magnificent smells coming from there but i did as Ann said and I only got bread. Then i noticed that I had no more money to go buy vegetables or fruits. I saw a man carrying a basket full of fresh fruits and vegetables. i walked up to the man and said.

"Hello sir I was wondering if I can have those fruits and vegetables and you can keep your basket."

He shoved me and laughed and then called me an ignorant fool. I then stole his basket of food and I ran for my life as quick as I can. I don't know what changed inside of me. I just snapped. I then felt it was better to steel so we can save our money so we can buy medicine if anyone got sick. I got home and I gave the food to Ann she looked at with surprise. She then asked,

" How did you get so much food?"

beach were the rich people can't bother us. Ann was making a basket with lunch in it. Benjamin was getting into his swimsuit James doesn't like to be outside so he didn't want to come. I helped Lilly get into her swimsuit and when she left to help Ann i got changed into my swimsuit uit. That dress was for her to wear her swimsuit under it and come here. Ann then ran into the water and then dived in and then swam under water. she swam fast and strong. Benjamin not so much he wasn't the best at swimming. I played with Lilly until Ann took her and Lily grabbed onto Ann's back as Ann swimed. They were both giggling and Benjamin just watched in awe until I saw her smile with joy and it made me happy to see her so joyful. I lied to her though and said a nice person gave it to me. I felt bad for lying but she was so happy. That night i went through a hole in the roof and I fell asleep on the roof by myself. I woke up and it was day. I woke up to a pinching sensation I then saw the rich brat kids that lived downstairs shooting at me with their slingshots. I then saw one of the rocks coming at me and I grabbed it before it hit me and then they screamed before running away and I threw the rock at them and it hit one in the head and they fell to the ground I then went back inside. Ann greeted me with eggs and bacon for breakfast. I thanked her and took the plate and then ate. We lived in the attic but are new bedrooms were in the fourth floor were the maids servants and butlers stay. I had my own room but Lilly liked to sleep in the same bed as me. To day is going to be good we are all going to the beach were the rich people can't bother us. Ann was making a basket with lunch in it.
