Matt sat there in the middle of the basement, collecting his thoughts after the fight, letting the men almost killing him. He kneeled down, telling them to finish him. But all he heard was Devons voice, telling him not to do this. He cries out for her.

He would do anything to go see her, but he wants to get better. He wants to protect her even she doesn't need it. Never in his life has he loved anyone this much. It was almost painful.

"Im so sorry." He cries. He reached out for the ghost of her. "Im sorry Devon." His head falls back. Sister Maggie walks in. Matt quickly acts like he wasn't just crying. She came to his aid and started to patch him up.

"Who's this Devon?"

"A girl who I love." He came out to say. "You know, she's name Devon because her parents thought they were having boys, and her dad is a star wars fan and named her and her brother after Luke and Leia." He chuckles softly, remembering her. "The way her accent sounds all silky and smooth but yet so raspy, her skin so soft. She's stubborn but its cute. No matter what shes done, i still love her."

"That girl sounds lucky."

"Was."

I sat on my couch, flipping through magazines and rush on my side. Hes a good boy, behaves and listens well. Kinda glad that Yelena and River got me him. Hes now my partner in crime. I turned a page and someone at the door started to bang, waking Rush up and growling at the door. I tossed the magazine to the coffee table and walked my way to the door, to my surprise it was Karen. She was pissed and just walked right in.

"Please come on in." I slammed the door behind her. I made my way to her in the living room, crossing my arms. "What can i help you with Karen?"

"You owe big time after this."

"For what?" I frowned. She scrambled through her bag and tosses the pictures onto the table.

"Look familiar?" I grabbed them and looked through them. It was me when I killed that man that kidnapped me. It was clear as day, you can see the blood and the side of my face, my back against the camera. I tossed the pictures back to Karen,

"My ass looks great. Glad that they got that angle." I sat back down, kicking my feet up and looked at her. So what? Karen rolled her eyes.

"You know, maybe next time when you go out and do whatever you do when you go out as Red Widow, make sure you know where the cameras are." She throws the pictures at me, scattering around the floor. "I had to pay someone to give all of these to cover for you." I laughed in her face.

"Why would you do that?" I stood up. "We haven't spoken in months and now you want to protect me?"

"Ever since Matt left, you've been reckless, Frank told me." Frank you snitch. Karen has no business knowing.

"I remember very clearly that you didn't want anything to do with me." I snarled at her. "Lets keep it that way, yeah?"

"I get it, you're in pain that Matts gone. That doesn't mean you have kill people. Matt would be so disappointed."

"Matts not here." My voice cracks. "Matt kept me sane and now that hes gone i am lost!" She shakes her head. "You have no idea the pain I've gone through."

"Boo hoo Devon, you got into a bad life, get in line. Youre not special with your sob story, everyone has their own problems, you don't see them killing people."

"Yeah, a sob story you wrote about." A while back, karen wrote about the Red Widow, without my permission. It added more into the fire we had going on and i rushed into that building and swearing to her in Russian. Some of her staff held me back as she hid in her office. "How dare you." I noticed that i took a step to her, she backs up. "Youre scared of me." She shakes her hair out of her face.

"Im not scared of you." I slowly waltz up to her, her breathing started to shorten. "Do it, show me who you really are."

"I saved your life from the Hand, and you think im such a bad person because of my history? Grow up Karen. I don't just kill because i have an urge or that i like it. I do it because there's bad people that need to be put down."

"God you sound like Frank." She scuffs. "People just don't get to decide that they just don't want to kill. Youve done it for years, like you said, since you were 10."

"Like you? You think you coming here and starting over when you killed your brother makes you a saint? Pathetic Karen, thats low."

"And you trying to weasel your way into our lives like we weren't going to find out? How about that family you killed? Were they bad?" I saw red. How dare she.

"Keep talking and I swear to god." I growled.

"You know, I could've let the guy print these off, but I didn't, i prefer to keep my leverage just in case."

"You really want to see someone with leverage?" I picked up a cup from the table and mashed it on the wall, Karen screams. Yelena came rushing in and pulling me away from Karen.

"You need to leave!" Yelena yells at her. She tried to calm me down. Karen just stood there, my eyes were focused on her. "Get out!" Yelena holds me down. "Breathe, come on do it." I closed my eyes, clenched my jaw and tightened my fists. She hadn't seen me like this in a while, last time it was when me and the Winter Soldier trained and we hated each others guts, we nearly killed each other when we showed the girls in her group how to spar.

"Get off me."

"You could've hurt her." I pushed her off of me, walking away to my room.

"If i did, I would've done it a long time ago." I slammed my door and locked myself in there. Yelena stands by my door, sighing. I sat on my bed and cried silently to myself.
