After waking up, our heroes make their way to a small café for breakfast. As they waited, Jessica smiles.

"So, is everyone excited about the festival?" Jessica asked as banners, lights and ribbons decorated on every tree, lamp post and chair.

"Yeah!" Ash and dawn both smiled given each other a high five. Jessica smiled happily.

"What are you all looking forward to?"

"The tournament!" Ash said loudly determined to win.

"I'll like to try baking and the contests." Dawn smiled shyly as Piplup nods.

"I would like to care for Pokémon..." Brock said as he looked around the plaza.

"That's very sweet of you Brock. What if you help nurse joy in the Pokémon centre?" Brock's eyes light up. Ash and dawn just stared at her.

"Wait, really?!" Dawn gasps.

"Yes. You see, not everyone takes part in the tournament. They prefer to watch or do other things. Nurse joy, loves to give Pokémon massages. Maybe you can help her."

When their food arrived, they started to eat. Talking happily as the sound of party poppers filled the air. The cheers of many children can be heard as they race around the plaza. Everything was ready for the festival tonight.
After finishing their meal, they all raced around the city, buying tokens. Watching performances. And joining in with others. Until, it was time for the tournament to begin.

Ash stood beside many trainers, all ready as he is. He glanced around, but couldn't find Jessica anywhere. Dawn and Brock both stood with him as they looked up at a screen. That's when Jessica stepped on the stage.

"Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen! To the Battle tournament!" She announced loudly. As everyone cheered. "My name is Jessica - the hero of this city!" She smiled happily, her eyes glittering.

"Let me tell you the rules, so everyone is aware. Everyone has a token marked with Team Harmony's logo." Everyone held there tokens tightly in their hands. Ash raised it up and stared down at the logo.
"If a trainer defeats you, you must give these to the refire. You mustn't switch Pokémon during battle, but before and after you may. The last one with the token in hand, is the winner!"

Everyone cheered as they all glanced around at every trainer.

"Now, let the tournament begin! Ready?!" Jessica smiled as the trainers all stared straight into each others eyes. "Set?" Turning slowly, they all wait. "Battle!" Jessica declared as all the trainers race down a path, with pokéballs in hand.
Confused, ash watched as Jessica jumped off the stage and joined in the race.

As she raced past him, she looked into his eyes and winked. Ash got the message, as he races down the path. It was a race, if you catch up to a trainer, you get to battle. Be the last one standing. This is going to be fun.

Ash didn't had a hard time getting through his opponents. First it was a trainer named Gordon. He and his Raichu was pretty much a big deal. But it wasn't so hard for Grotle to take the win. Jessica had some impressive winning strikes. Even after a battle against Flygon, she still had time to congratulate the other trainer who stood up against her.

As the tournament got closer to the end... Ash stood in front of the second best. Jessica. The crowd all awed and cheered. Cheering for the trainers in unison. Jessica smiled as she lifted her head and looked into his eyes.

"Ash, I was wanted to test my skills against yours. I can tell you train and look after your Pokémon well. But let me be the judge on that by a battle!" Jessica took out a pokeball and throws it into the air, slowly it starts to fall, she catches it.

Ash watches as his mind races. She's got a lot of strong Pokémon... Staraptor, leafeon, Floatzel, Shinx... Even watching her battle, makes my body shake... Why am I soo tense...?

"Are you ready?" Jessica smirked as if she knew the answer to her question.

Staraptor is a flying and floatzel is a water... There's a chance... She might pick them... But she has leafeon and Shinx... Which one would she pick? Ash looked down at pikachu and nods. "Right! Pikachu I choose you!" Ash commanded as his partner jumped into battle. By the look on Jessica's face made ash worried.

Pikachu. I thought so. His trusty side kick. He also wanted to battle, I could tell. His eyes says it all. "Good choice. But you won't win against my Lucario!" Everyone gasps as the strongest member came out of the ball. It looked like a wolf or a dog. His fur on his face looked like a mask, one big spike was on his chest, with two little ones on his paws. He stood tall and ready for battle.

"Lucar!" He roared, sending everyone screaming.

Lucario? Ash swallowed hard. He never met a strong Pokémon like him before. The determination in his eyes looked like fire and rage all in once.

"You make the first move, ash." Jessica smiled. I want to see your strength.

"Pikachu use thunderbolt!" Ash commanded as the mouse charged and released a large bolt. Without even given a command, Jessica watched as Lucario takes the damage. As the smoke cleared, Lucario was still left standing. With two bones blocking the blow. "What?!"

"What do you think of Lucario's bone rush?" Jessica asked as the electricity flowed through his body and onto the ground below. "Bone rush is a ground type move, which is effective on Pikachu. That bolt didn't hurt him one bit."

Ash gritted his teeth. "If thunderbolt won't work then iron tail would. Pikachu use iron tail!" Pikachu raced towards Lucario and jumps into the air, swinging it's steel tail down at Lucario. Yet again, Jessica doesn't say a command. Lucario, unbelievably dodged the move with such speed, and counter attacks with a force palm.

"Pika!"

"Pikachu!" Ash called out as Lucario stood beside him and charges up an big blue ball. Pikachu was badly injured and Jessica wasn't given Lucario a command, was she letting him do whatever he likes?

"Pikachu! Hang in there!" Ash begged. Just then, a explosion interrupted the battle. Everyone turned towards the park.

"What was that?!" Someone asked within the crowd. Lucario stopped his attack and looked down the path. Shinx was worried as she steps forward slowly...

There was silence. Everyone waited as the sound of thunder came closer and louder from within the park...
