Chapter 3

A week had passed since they moved to megapolis, (y/n) had a part-time job at pigsy's but only when mk wasn't there. Not that she saw him much anyway due to his deliveries and all. And the necklace her friend gave her worked like a charm, along with the bracelets her sons wore and it would also soon be their birthday which yang and ming-yue were more than excited for.

But as much as they were excited about their birthday they were also nervous to start their first day of school. Yang and ming-yue were in the same class but the two had to take the form of a human and keep the bracelet on at all times since (y/n) asked them to for their self-protection. (y/n) had the day off today and took her day off to figure out what to get her kids for their birthday, which was harder than she thought cause they wanted a lot but she was only gonna get them 10 or 5 presents each. While the mother was thinking over the toy list ming-yue gave her she also listened to the news on the tv with her in the kitchen making lunch.

"And in breaking news, it's been confirmed that last week's devastation was caused by the legendary demon bull king. Questions still remain about the small overpowered young man who saved us all. Autho-" she turned the tv off with the click of a remote and sighed "damn it wukong you really could have picked someone else.." she muttered as she finished the sandwich she made herself.

Yang and ming-yue were at school at this hour leaving her alone in the apartment. As she ate her packet-made ramen from the pot her mind wandered a little to when she first met sun wukong.

(y/n) was walking home on a winter afternoon in megapolis, the snow dancing in the air was light. While walking down the sidewalk she saw a gold-looking bird fly in the sky ahead of her, so thinking it was the coolest thing in the world she pulled her phone out and took a photo before it was out of sight. Moving on with her walk home she looked over the photo she took she could see the photo she took was quite blurry, sighing and putting her phone away she got to her apartment complex and was walking up the stairs to her home door. On her way to her door, she saw the golden bird on the railing near her front door staring at her with a tilted head to which she replied with a confused tilt of her head before smiling warmly and walking to her door unlocking it with a swift open of the door. (y/n) was both surprised and startled by the bird's movement into her home "uh sure come on in" she said with a nervous smile and shut her front door when she was inside.

After taking her coat and backpack off at the door she was at her kitchen table staring at the bird as if she was waiting for something or if the bird was. Still, soon enough she sighed and sat back pulling her phone from her back pocket and moving to take a picture of where the bird was now only there to sit a huge monkey-like man in his place. Speechless she dropped her phone with wide eyes and her thoughts everywhere making the monkey snicker "so I see you saw me so I followed you home to personally thank yo- WOAH!" he was cut off by her standing up and throwing her chair at him. "I don't give a flying damn who you are but you will leave," she said loudly at the bristled and surprised monkey, it was a first for him to see someone do something like this and a woman at that. "Hey, woah kid listen I won't hurt ya I swear" wukong assured with his hands in surrender and her tightening the grip she had on the lamp that was in her grasp "ok...... then what are you? Cause you're not obviously human..." she muttered and lowered the lamp making him relief an lower his own hands.

After what seemed to be an hour of him explaining who he was and a few great stories to boost his ego, (y/n) wasn't in awe but more confused than before "yeah no sorry but I don't understand why you followed me home to just thank me" she huffed getting his focus back onto the subject. "Ah, I also thought of bothering you for a while if you don't mind," monkey king said earning a small scowl from her before she sighed a grumble and said "fine but don't get me into trouble old timer" although after saying that seemed to trigger something in the monkey to cause him to glare at her smiling face. "Don't call me-" "then don't call me kid" she interrupted him as he huffed and ate the peach's from the table bowl.

Her thoughts were interrupted by redson's broadcast on how his family was gonna finally rule or something. "Citizens it is I, red son! I have taken control of the weather station. And will harness the very power of nature to return my father to his former glory! This message is more of a courtesy really" he announced. Soon enough there was a huge mess of the weather across the world and it was put into a bit of chaos, shown on the tv of course as since it was part of the news. "When I'm finished, my father will once more dominate the world. and then... oh, look a lightning button" redson continued but seemed giddy at the end. Hearing the 'lightning button part' she was a bit worried since her sons have sensitive ears as macaque does.

With all the catastrophes happening out and about, the school ming-yue and yang went to had to call the parents of all the students about an early release for the safety of the children. (y/n) didn't really need the call since she was on her way to the elementary, anyhow though while on her way there she could hear a small distant scream before a loud clash causing the very ground she walked on shake and a car to blare. She hid in an alleyway to see who it was caused by. Now seeing whatever it was, mk had created a small crater in the road but before she could go and even check up on him she froze along with holding her breath when she heard his voice.

"How you doin' there bud?" monkey king asked mk with a slight tint of seriousness in his joy-filled voice. "Monkey king?! Great! Now that you're here we could both fly up there and smash tha-" "no, no, no. no, no.. in case you forgot I'm retired you're the one supposed to be taking care of the bad guys. besides you're INVINCIBLE! Right?" sun wukong told an asked interrupting mk completely which was a bit rude. "Well yeah, I.. I mean I am invincible but y'know..." mk spoke before sighing and saying "every time I try to do anything I just fuck everything up..... something wrong" he muttered staring at his hands. After that short moment (y/n) took that as her cue to leave a different way without being seen by the both of them.

Now that she had gotten away and out of sight from the two, she was so close to her son's school, and yet... she couldn't shake the anxiety that had filled her earlier. Trying to shake the feeling away she couldn't help but drown in it now as she felt watched while walking to pick her boys up. Fishing her phone from her coat pocket to check the time and get her mind away from what she was feeling, walking a bit faster she was soon there at the school entrance with a few other early parents, after waving hello to a few with a friendly smile she looked to the students coming out and running to their parents with either happy faces or slightly scared. Soon enough her boys came running at her almost knocking her down in the process if it wasn't their hugging keeping her up "H... Hey, you two are you both alright?" she questioned seeing ming-yue shake his head into her side and yang to only hug her a bit tighter.

After the moment of heartfelt hugging, the three walked back home as the two boys rambled on about their first day of school. All (y/n) could do was smile and nod her head since she was only half paying attention while she focused on just getting them all home. But without her noticing, they were being watched but ming-yue's and yang's hands tightened on both of their mother's hands as they felt the dark presence in their mother's shadow, but as soon as the presence was sensed it seemed to disappear rather quickly.

"Heh... finally back and with kids at that? Now that's interesting although.." before the voice of the man could continue he froze on the rooftop he crouched upon, and to see the two boys looking up at the male with their golden eyes. It puzzled him more yet it slightly scared him seeing as they stared at one another before they crossed the road with (y/n), the male on the rooftop shook his head a little before growling and disappearing.

So...... it's been a long while since I updated, but hear me out I got really busy with school and with personal life business stuff. I want to update as much as I can so I apologize to those who waited and are maybe annoyed I also want to thank those who stayed and were patient with me. I appreciate it.
