In the remarkably far Sky'wing Kingdom, a reddish-orange Sky'wing exited her home, the sun reflected off her glasses as she followed the gravel pathway on the declining grassy hill which her home rested upon. Her name was Garnet'shine. She stretched her wings and yawned as she walked, approaching the nearby forest. She passed through the woods, birds chirped from every side, and the wind gently whistled through the Spring leaves. Soon the distinct sound of crashing waves could be heard, the air sparkled with refreshing sea mist as she walked out of the trees, looking around and inhaling the fresh air. Around her lay a gorgeous beach, nothing but soft sand and smooth rocks.

Garnet'shine approached the beach with a smile, she loved the calmness it brought her. The gentle yet uproaring waves gave her a surreal sense of life. She slowly paced along the shore, shutting her eyes and enjoying the sounds nature provided. She calmly opened her eyes, immediately then tripping over something, flopping onto the soft sand, and yelping in surprise. She lifted her neck with a surprised face, shaking her head to get the sand off. She flapped her large wings once as the sand around her dove away. She jolted up from the ground before glancing around, noticing the object that she tripped on. It was small and round, with elegant, shiny cyan and blue swirls and stripes that looked like a work of art. Curiously, she picked it up, holding it up in front of her snout.

"Woah! This is one strange seashell!" She curiously touched the round object with her talon, its smooth exterior resembled no shell she had found. Then came the realization. She made an excited yip to herself. "I cannot believe I've found an egg!" She nearly dropped the egg in excitement, pacing around herself in joy. She returned her sight back onto the egg, feeling the frigid temperature emanating from the egg. She made a worried face, before carefully stuffing the egg into her leather bag. "I'll get you to safety, little one!" She said, before galloping back to the pathway she came from and hastily making her way back to her wooden home. She slammed her crude wooden door and bolted inside, shuffling through various barrels until she pulled out a few pieces of deer leather. She laid the leather out inside a woven basket, grabbed the egg, and placed it inside, covering it up with the leather as if it was a blanket.

She sat down beside the basket, swirling her tail around, "Moons, I found an egg, what do I do now? Do I wait for it to hatch? It looks like a Sea'wing egg, maybe I should find a Sea'wing and tell them to bring it back to their kingdom? Or.... should I raise it? I hope it's alright, it seemed pretty cold out there... it had to wash up on the shore." Garnet'shine's jittery ideas sprung to herself, before shrugging and pulling a scroll from a nearby barrel, laying down to read.

Many months later...

The Sky'wing pranced across the grass, laughing as a small purple creature pounced after her, she roared dramatically as it bit down on the tip of her tail, chewing it with its dull teeth. She rolled onto her back, lifting her tail, the dragonet still latched onto it. Garnet'shine slowly moved her tail towards her front legs, before grabbing the dragonet with her arms gently. The dragonet made an adorable chirp, suddenly its eyes widened as the lines of blue fluff on its back and underbelly started to emit a dim glow.

Garnet'shine raised an eyebrow as the dragonet made a small burp, releasing a tiny puff of blue flames that quickly dissipated before they could touch the Sky'wing. The dragonet gasped, before wriggling out of her arms and rolling down onto the soft grass, opening its mouth and closing it multiple times in an attempt to replicate what it had just done. Garnet'shine lifted herself from the ground, her jaw dropping,
"Was that fire? You can breathe fire? Oh, my moons! Sea'wings can't breathe fire! You're no Sea'wing, Aren't you? Huh?"

The dragonet turned to the Sky'wing, only responding with a happy chirp before looking away and pouncing at a cluster of large grass blades, biting and clawing down at it playfully. Garnet'shine smiled and sat back down on the grass, looking away from the dragonet and glancing over at her distant home. She blinked, what was that? She swore she had seen something move near her home. She looked back at the dragonet, scooping him up with her arms, "Come on Azure'shard, let's go back." she muttered to him in a quiet, quick voice.

Garnet'shine trotted back to the house, the door flung towards the side and her house exposed. "Hello? Who's there?" She called out in a confused voice, scratching her head. Azure'shard looked up at her with an equally confused face, tilting his head.

A face stared back, emerging from the dimly lit room that was her house, followed by another face. Both of them were fully dressed in armor. Another dragon emerged from behind her, flaring its large wings out and blocking her path. Garnet'shine realized the predicament, she was surrounded.

She stepped back, her ears flattening, "...How can I help you?" She asked, her voice stuttering, intimidated by the sheer amount of heavily armored dragons, weapons grasped in their talons.

Some of the dragons stepped aside, revealing a light red dragon with a dull yellow underbelly and wings, in the dragon's tail, were embedded multiple, red, blue, and green colored large diamond-shaped gems, The dragon wore earrings with similar, but smaller diamonds. A shiny golden crown sat upon her head. The dragon huffed, smoke flowing into the air out of her nostrils. The dragon made a subtle, fake smile at Garnet'shine before turning to one of the armored dragons,
"Yes, this one." she whispered.

Garnet'shine stepped back, "What?" She asked again, hoping for an explanation. Two of the armored dragons raced towards her, one pulling her back, the other grabbing Azure'shard with their talons. Garnet'shine roared as she fell to the grass, "No, please! What are you doing? Give him back!" She quickly got back on her feet. baring her teeth at the dragons before walking towards the dragon who took the dragonet, Another of the armored dragons hissed, pointing its spear up at Garnet'shine, making her step back.

The dragon with Azure'shard handed him over to the well-decorated dragon, who lifted him up with both arms and stared at him for a moment as he struggled and bit her talons. She then handed the dragonet back to the guard, "Perfect! We're done here." She spoke.

Garnet'shine cried out, attempting to charge at the dragons once again, "He's my child! You can't just take him! Give him back to me!" One of the guards raised their spear, grazing her face. Blood trickled out of her snout, the cut leaving a small barely visible red gash. She stepped back, wiping her face with one of her arms and glancing down at the blood, before looking back at the dragon who attacked her with a terrified face.

The royal convoy of dragons extended their wings as Azure'shard roared and yelped in fear, trying to escape the guard's grasp, yet to no avail. The dragons began to fly away, A proud look smirked onto the crowned dragon's face. Garnet'shine froze, her pupils shrinking as she watched the escort of armored guards fly away with her child. before the thought of chasing after them even entered her mind, they were far out of sight.
