"This is your place?" Amber asked.
"Yeah," he said and rubbed the back of his neck,"this is it. It's not much but it's home to me."
His place was small a couch on the back wall and a small hallway with a door on either side and a door at the end.
I said nothing. I kept trying not to look at him. If I had it my way I would be in his arm right now. But he sees me as a friend. I don't even think I'm his friend.
"This is your guy's room. It's small and you will have to pick who sleeps where, but it will work for now,"he said. I never knew he lived alone.
Amber looked around. Almost looking disgusted. It's better than the place we lived in before. At least it's a roof over our head.
"It will work,"I said and nudged her.
She looked up. "Uh yeah!" She was such a fake.
He left the room and Amber and I worked out who would sleep where. She got the top bunk. I got bottom bunk.
The first thing I pulled out was my box of pictures. I clung to it. I don't know what I would do with out these simple pieces of paper. Amber pulled out her teddy bear.
Later that night, around midnight I woke up. I was sweating from the nightmare I just had. I was with my dad in court and he didn't get custody. Amber got to go with mom again and I was put into a foster home. Terrified me. Knowing the monsters that were out there. Including my mom.
I silently tip-toed out of the room and went toward the front door. I was wearing shorts and an over sized Pierce The Veil shirt. I closed the door as quietly as I could and walked to the back yard. Jerrod lived on a lake. I ran down to the dock he had set up. I sat at the edge.
Staring into the water I felt like someone was watching me. I looked behind me.
No one was there.
I looked back at the water but I couldn't shake that feeling.
I heard rustling in the bushes behind me. I looked behind me again.
No one.
I got up and grabbed a piece of broken wood and held it up.
"Who," I was shaking," Who's there?"
No reply.
"Who is there?" I said again. Only louder.
A figure walked out but I couldn't tell who it was. The figure was tall. Taller than me by a lot.
I took a step back and almost fell into the lake. It took a step towards me. I held the piece of wood out in front of me.
"Go away! Or I will call the cops" I was terrified.
Then a sudden flame from a lighter was held up a little ways away from it.
"Hey! Get out of my yard man!" Jerrod yelled some yards away.
The figure ran back into the brush. I was paralyzed with fear. I couldn't move. Jerrod came running down to me.
"Are you ok?" I couldn't see his face but I could hear his worry.
I couldn't speak all I could do is move against his chest and cry. He held onto me as I balled. I couldn't do anything. He walked me to the house again.
"Do you want me to call the police and tell them what you saw?" He asked wile sitting me on the couch.
"No." That's all I could say.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
"Well did you see anything? Did he speak?"
"No. He just held up a match." I felt the tears prickling at my eyes.
What do you think? Who's the guy? ^-^ keep reading woves! <3
