They say every new beginning comes from another beginning's end, and for Norville Rogers, or as most knew him, "Shaggy," such words couldn't have been more true once he first stepped foot in Addersfield.
For today's prompt, "Trip," I drew something related to a recent webcomic idea of mine. The inspirations for said webcomic were comics from the early 2000s and one of my all-time favorite artists, the talented and retro-loving Francesca Damkar (aka Fad-Artwork), who has become a close friend of mine in the online art community. The story centers around the universe and characters shown in my and Francesca's artwork, takes place in the quaint town of Addersfield, and tells the stories of its residents going about their occasionally wacky everyday grind.
This sketch centers around one such resident, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, a high-school graduate who moved to Addersfield to pursue a degree in forensics at the local college. While traveling, his love for photography struck once more, and he took advantage of every photo opportunity. When he finally arrived at his dream destination, he knew he couldn't overlook the chance to get a picture with the town's welcoming sign. This photo marked the beginning of his new life in Addersfield's pleasant valleys, days before he met the mystery-solving gang and comical Great Dane who accompanied his future mysteries.

Jim Morrison may have stated that a friend gives you the freedom to be yourself, but where's the part about a friend getting you to wear matching outfits for a day? Because it's surely not just my personal experience. 🤣
This drawing might be my only Inktober 2022 sketch that doesn't focus on a particular fictional character but on people from my personal life. This drawing depicts what my IRL best friend and I recently did: wear matching sweaters and gummy bear earrings (which unfortunately didn't get much of a spotlight). As you can most definitely tell, that was the main inspiration behind today's drawing. 🤭

Sometimes, you don't need a pillow or blanket to feel comfortable; Snoopy and his nest-loving best friend, Woodstock, are here to prove that. The dynamic dog-and-bird duo came into my thoughts while I was thinking up ideas for this prompt, "Nest." Here, Snoopy is relaxing and keeping a good eye on the nest in his lap that carries his long-time friend.

Yeah... maybe being the money-hungry owner of the most popular restaurant in town doesn't affect your mood in the best mood, as Mr. Krabs is here to show. Despite waking up on the wrong side of the bed, he and the accompanying pun and fruit were very fitting for today's prompt, "Crabby." I can't help but agree with that intimidated crabapple; Mr. Krabs sure does seem in for quite a "crabby" day.
