As Wei Wuxian walked towards the edge of the cliff, he was consumed by despair. He had lost everything in his life, including the Jian sect, his adoptive parents, and now his beloved sister. He threw himself off the cliff, hoping for darkness to envelop him.

However, when he opened his eyes, he found himself still alive, with Lan Zhan holding him tightly. Blood dripped from a wound on Lan Zhan's arm. "Wei Ying!" Lan Zhan called out anxiously.

"Lan Zhan, let go," Wei Ying begged, but Lan Zhan refused. Instead, he focused on saving Wei Ying's life. As they both hung precariously from the cliff, Wei Ying saw Jian Cheng approaching with a sword in hand. "Jian Cheng, don't do it!" Lan Zhan pleaded, but Jian Cheng ignored him and yelled, "WEI WUXIAN GO TO HELL!" before plunging his sword into the rock that held them both.

Wei Ying instantly realized that if Lan Zhan didn't release his grip, they would both plummet. "Lan Zhan, let g-" Wei Ying's words were cut short as the rock beneath them crumbled, causing them to descend rapidly. In the midst of the fall, Wei Ying questioned Lan Zhan, "Why didn't you let go?" he asks.

Lan Zhan passionately proclaimed, "I love Wei Ying!" The declaration was met with Wei Ying's own admission, "I've always loved you too, Lan Zhan!" Anticipating a harsh impact upon hitting the ground, unexpected salvation arrived when Bichen suddenly appeared, and Lan Zhan swiftly secured Wei Ying onto the sword.

After soaring through seemingly endless darkness for what felt like an eternity, they finally emerged to a mesmerizing expanse of shadowed terrain. Lan Zhan gracefully dismounted from Bichen, carefully stowing away the sword.

TuTurning around, Wei Wuxian approached Lan Zhan, gently touching his cheeks before planting a tender kiss on his forehead. "Lan Zhan, thank you. I love you," he expressed, followed by a fleeting kiss on the lips.

Once their intimate moment concluded, they cautiously surveyed their surroundings, their eyes filled with alertness, until they caught sight of a concealed sanctuary nestled amidst the rugged terrain.

Intrigued, they were drawn towards a hidden entrance that beckoned them forward. Slowly, they walked towards the mouth of the cave, stepping inside. Sensing the need for care, Wei Ying offered, "Lan Zhan, allow me to tend to your wounds." With a nod, Lan Zhan agreed and took a seat.

. . . . .

"Lan Zhan, do you believe I can purify brutal mounds?" Wei Ying inquired, gazing at Lan Zhan. "Mn, Wei Ying can accomplish anything he sets his mind to," Lan Zhan replied, feeling drowsy. "Thank you, Lan Zhan, but I believe it's time for us to rest," Wei Ying yawned. "Mn," Lan Zhan agreed. "Lan Zhan, wait here. I will go set up camp and be back shortly," Wei Ying informed Lan Zhan. "Alright," Lan Zhan responded.

After successfully setting up the camp, Wei Wuxian returned. "Lan Zhan, I've finished. Let's get some sleep now," he called out, beckoning Lan Zhan to join him. "Mn," Lan Zhan acknowledged as he extinguished the fire and settled down for rest.

To his surprise, Wei Ying was the first one to awaken as the morning light streamed into the cave. "I suppose Lan Zhan must have been quite exhausted," Wei Ying mused to himself before rising to his feet and stepping outside to survey the area.

He stumbled upon a river adorned with a cascading waterfall, along with an apple tree in close proximity. Stripping off his clothes, he cleansed them in the river before suspending them from the tree to dry.

After bathing in the river, Wei Ying proceeded to swim towards the majestic waterfall. Once positioned directly beneath its cascading waters, he settled himself and began to meditate. Gradually, he cleared his mind and attained a state of tranquility.
