Chapter 17. 向日葵

Wei Sizhui and Wei Jingyi feel a sense of emptiness after Jin Lings departure. they had grown accustomed to his presence and enjoyed spending time with him, so they now feel a bit lonely without him. Nevertheless, they know that life must go on and they have ecth other, their sister Wei Li, and their a-Niang and a-die for company.

The brother spent most of their time training material arts and their cultivation. It's been a passion for them since they were young, and they take it seriously. they discuss new techniques and strategies with echt other. and often spar to test their skills. since they both have a similar level of proficiency, their sparring matches are usually intense and competitive, but friendly.

sometimes Wei Li joins them in their training sessions. she is also a skilled material artis and cultivator and enjoys teaching her little brothers. they encourage and support each other, and their bond as siblings grows stronger every day.

When they're not training, the three siblings like to explore the surrounding areas. they go on walks, visit nearby villages, and occasionally help with chores to help their community. they also enjoy talking about the world beyond their sect, sharing their dreams and aspiration with each other.

Their mother, Wei Zhan, often joins them in their activities and provides guidance and wisdom. he tells them of his youth and imparts valuable life lessons that they take to heart.

Although they miss Jin Ling's company, the Wei siblings have a strong support system in each other and their family. they continue training with ech other, enjoying each other's company.

In Wei Ying' office
1:00 PM

"I think It's time for us to change our sect's name," says Wei Ying. "The sect's name 'Hua' is traditionally a name associated with women. I'm worried that our may not be taken seriously by outsiders. plus, we don't want to step on anyone's toes and cause confusion."

Lan Zhan nods in agreement. "I agree. it's time for our sect to have a name that better reflects who we are and what we stand for. we want to be respected for our material arts and cultivation and our contributions to the community. I think a new name would help us achieve that."

Wei Ying leans forward in his chair, his face determined. "Let's start brainstorming new names. we need something that's unique, memorable, and represents our values. something that will set us apart from other sects.

They spend the next hours coming up with potential names for their sect, bouncing ideas off of each other and debating the pro and cons of each suggestion. some of the names sound too generic or too pretentious, but finally, they settle on a name that they both like: "Ling Yun" which means "Spiritual cloud".

"Ling Yun- I think that's perfect! says Wei Wuxian, smiling. "It's a name that evokes a sense of spiritual enlightenment and a feeling of being free. It's a name I think will make our sect stand out among others."
Lan Zhan nods in agreement. "Yes, I agree. It's a name that represents the aspiration and values of our sect. It's time for us to embrace this name and make our own."
With that, Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan finalize their decision to change their sect's name to Ling Yun. they know it won't be easy to rebrand themselves, but they feel confident that this change will help their sect gain the recognition and reputation it deserves. 

After the discussion Lan Zhan walks to the kitchen, mentally preparing for the cooking session. as he enters the kitchen, he is greeted by the familiar comforting scent of spices and ingredients. He starts by taking out all of the vegetables and meat he will needs and begins chop them into bite-sized pieces. He moves with ease and precision, his years of experience showing in his movement.

Wei Li walks into the kitchen, eager to see what her a-Naing is cooking. "What's for dinner, a-Niang?" She asks. 

"We're having stir-fried with shrimp and steamed rice," replies Lan Zhan, stirring the vegetables in the wok. Wei Li watches her a-Niang cook, admiring the way he moves and the skill he displays. "Can I help A-Niang?" she asks. 

"Of course, you can," says Lan Zhan with a smile. "Grab a knife and start chopping these vegetables for me." 

Wei li joins her mother, pointing out some vegetables she thinks will go well together, and together they finish the preparation for the dish. 

While the dish cooks, Lan Zhan starts preparing the steamed rice. He measures the rice and the water, rinses the rice thoroughly, and then set it to cook in a pot on the stove.

As the dish is ready, He carefully plates everything on a large serving dish, making sure everything is evenly distributed and that it visually looks pleasing.

As the dish is ready Lan Zhan calls in the rest of the family to eat. as Lan Zhan calls the family to eat, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan take their seats at the table. Lan Zhan ladles the stir-fried vegetables with shrimp and steamed rice onto everyone's plate, and they begin to eat.

As they savor the meal, We Ying and Lan Zhan start talking to their children about the discussion they had earlier about changing their sect's name. they explain why they think it's necessary and the reasoning behind their choice of a new name.

Wei Li the eldest of the siblings, listens intently, nodding in agreement. "I think it's a good idea. our sect deserves a name that truly represents who we are. Ling Yun sound like a name that will make people take us seriously.

Wei Shizui nods in agreement. "It's time for us to have a name we can be proud of. one of the honors our tradition but also sets us apart from the rest.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan smile at their children. "We're glad you understand and support our decision," says Lan Zhan.

Wei Jinyi who has been quiet during the entire conversation, speaks up. "I think it's a great idea. It's important for our sect to evolve and adapt to the changing society. a new name will help us accomplices that."

The family continues to eat and chat about their day, their future goals and their goals for the future of their sect. they all agree that a new name will help them grow, to be more prominent, and to represent their values better.

As dinner come to an end, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan look at each other, proud of their family, and the strong bond they share. they feel confident that their decision to change their sect's name will be welcomed by all, and they look forward to a new chapter for their sect. Ling Yun.

Later that evening, In the garden

while walking in the garden together with Lan Zhan, Wei Wuxian asks him to go on a date with him. Wei Ying has been planning this date for a long time and today he finally got the time to ask his beloved Lan Zhan.

"Lan Zhan, I have been thinking about all day. I want to take you on a date in the forest tomorrow. would you be interested?" Wei Ying asks his heart beating in anticipation.

Lan Zhan looks at him, his eyes glinting with excitement. "I would love that," he replies, his voice soft and kind, a side he only shows to his Beloved Wei Ying and children.

Wei Ying couldn't contain his excitement and joy, and he hugged him tightly. "I promise it will be the most romantic date ever." Lan Zhan smiled, feeling his words resonating within his heart. "I trust you." he replied.
