After a pleasant morning, evening arrived, and it was time for the computations to resume. As everyone took their seats and the contestants prepared themselves, the excitement in the air was palpable.
"Hello, everyone! Are you ready for another thrilling event?!" The crowd screamed and roared with excitement. "Alright, let's move on to our fifth and final course: strength. In this course, you will need to complete tasks that require physical strength. The fastest contestant will earn 1000 points, second place will receive 500 points, and third place will be awarded 300 points. Additionally, the last remaining contestants will engage in a duel, with the winner earning a bonus of 500 points. Good luck, everyone! Get ready... and... START!"
The challenges included climbing a tall structure, dragging a carriage loaded with wood, cutting thick logs, and much more. Most participants struggled and failed by the second or third task, while a few made it to the fifth task. At this point, the Jiang sect was in the lead, but the Hua sect soon caught up. The competition intensified, with the Lan sect facing difficulties while the Jin sect successfully moved into second place, and the Jiang sect held on to third. The Hua sect continued to maintain their lead.
After four hours, the first contestant emerged from the course, and it was A-Yuan from the Hua sect. Following closely behind was Jin Ling from the Jin sect, and in third place was a representative from the Jiang sect. The Lan sect secured the fourth position.
"Congratulations to the Hua sect for winning this round! You may now rest and prepare for your final task. Drink plenty of water and replenish your energy."
After resting.
"Alright, it's time for the last task of this course, where each sect will face off against another sect in combat. If a sect wins a round, they will proceed to the next level. This process will continue until there are only two sects left, who will then fight for the 500-point bonus. Each sect will have to fight in three different styles: hand-to-hand combat, stick fighting, and sword fighting. First up, we have... sect VS the ------ sect. Please take your positions, get ready... and... START!"
The intense fights began, captivating the attention of everyone. After an hour of fighting, the ------ sect emerged victorious. The participants took a well-deserved rest before gearing up for the next round, involving bamboo stick fighting. This time, the .... sect won, securing their place in the next level.
After each sect battled against one another, only four sects remained. These sects, namely the Lan sect, the Jiang sect, the Jin sect, and the Hua sect, were fighting for the last spot, determined to make it to the final level.
"Hello, everyone! I hope you've enjoyed this thrilling competition so far. We're now approaching the penultimate task. The Jiang sect will now face off against the Jin sect. The winner will move on to the final level and will have a chance to compete for the additional 500 points. Good luck to both sects! Now... START!"
The sects began their hand-to-hand combat, which lasted for two hours. The second fight, involving different techniques, took an hour. The third and final fight, which incorporated sword skills, lasted for three hours. Ultimately, the Jin sect emerged victorious, advancing to the final level. Upon hearing the results, the crowd erupted with excitement, though not everyone was pleased with the outcome.
"Alright, everyone, that concludes the battles for today. The remaining fight will resume tomorrow. I hope you all enjoyed the show, and thank you for attending. Have a restful night."
With that, the spectators left, and the participants, exhausted from the day's events, dispersed to their respective disciplines to get some much-needed rest.
A-Yuan, A-Yi, and A-Li were walking towards their parents to say good night when they heard someone yell, "Hey, you!" They turned around and were faced with one of the Jiang sect disciples.
"Yes?" A-Yuan answered, confused."Do you think you're better than everyone just because your sect is winning?" the disciple challenged.
"あいつ、何がしたいんだろう?" [What does he want?] A-Yuan asked his siblings in Japanese, still confused."わからない?" [I don't know] A-Yi replied.
"No, we don't. Plus, we never said that," A-Yi responded.
"But you act a lot like it!" the disciple yelled in their faces.
"No, we do not!" shouted A-Li in reply.
The boy was just about to say something when he noticed the sect leaders approaching. Fearing trouble, they quickly ran away.
"Hello, boys. Is there something happening here?" asked Wei Ying.
"No, A-Die, nothing happened. We were just about to come and wish you good night," A-Yuan quickly answered.
"Okay then, good night," said Wei Ying.
"Good night, A-Die. Good night, A-Niang," the boys bid their mother and father good night.
"Good night, my babies. Sweet dreams," Lan Zhan replied lovingly.
They all went to their rooms, washed up, combed their hair, and then went to sleep.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan bid their children goodnight and retreated to their own bedroom. They walked hand in hand, cherishing the quiet moments they could steal away from their duties.
As they entered their sanctuary, Wei Ying couldn't resist teasing Lan Zhan. "You know, Lan Zhan, you look even more beautiful under the moonlight," he whispered playfully.
Lan Zhan, usually composed, blushed ever so slightly and replied, "Only you can make moonlight pale in comparison, Wei Ying."
They shared a gentle laugh, their love palpable in the air. They helped each other undress, their movements filled with an intimacy that only comes with years of trust and devotion.
Once settled under the soft embrace of the blankets, Wei Ying curled up against Lan Zhan's side, finding solace in his comforting presence. Lan Zhan tenderly brushed a strand of stray hair away from Wei Ying's face, whispering words of love that were meant for their ears alone.
In the safety of their shared warmth, they let their worries melt away, surrendering to the embrace of a peaceful slumber. Their dreams intertwined, carrying them to places where their love continued to bloom, even amidst the chaos of the world outside.
