Running into the library, Wei Jinyu yelled out, "Dà-gē!" as he looked for Wei Sizhui. "Loud noise is forbidden in the library, a-Yu," Wei Sizhui scolded his Dìdi as he walked up behind him. "Dà-gē, can we spar? I feel like I have been slacking off, plus Bàba and Fùqīn aren't here, and I am bored."
"Uh... I am sorry to disappoint Dìdi, but I have some things to research and I am not yet done," Wei Sizhui said apologetically. "But, Jiejie is free, you can ask her to spar, and if I am done, I can join. Although I hardly think I will be done..." he suggested to his Dìdi, the last part muttered under his breath.
"Oh... ok, well good luck in your research," Wei Jingyu said a bit sad, as he wanted to spend some time with his Dà-gē.
Wei Sizhui's eyes widened in realization as he glanced down at the stack of books in his hands. His responsibility to his family and his desire to learn were both important, but he also recognized the importance of leisure time for the well-being of his younger brother. He had to find a balance.
"You know what, Dìdi? I think we can make an exception this time. Why don't we go find Jiejie together, and then the three of us can spar for a while before dinner?" Wei Sizhui suggested, his lips quirking up into a gentle smile.
As they walked together to find their Jiejie, Wei Sizhui playfully nudged his brother. "Besides, it'll be good practice for when we have to team up against Bàba and Fùqīn next time!"
With a shared laugh, the two brothers continued down the hallway, their spirits lifted and their connection strengthened through their mutual respect and understanding.
As Wei Sizhui and Wei Jingyu rounded a corner, they spotted their Jiejie walking towards them with a smile on her face. "I heard someone was looking for a sparring partner," she teased, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Wei Jingyu's face lit up, and he eagerly nodded. "Yes, Jiejie! We were just about to search for you. Dà-gē decided to join us as well!"
Wei Sizhui couldn't help but feel grateful for the strong bond between his siblings. He appreciated their understanding of his responsibilities and their willingness to adapt to make sure no one felt left out.
The trio made their way to the training grounds, laughter and playful banter filling the air as they went. Once they arrived, they prepared their weapons and began a spirited sparring session. Wei Sizhui marveled at how quickly Wei Jingyu was improving in his skills, a testament to his dedication and hard work.
As the afternoon sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the ground, the three of them decided to call it a day. Exhausted but exhilarated, they walked back to the main house together, ready for a warm meal and the comforting company of their family.
Wei Sizhui couldn't help but feel grateful for his family, their love, and the support they offered one another. With a contented sigh, he took his seat at the table, ready to enjoy a meal with the ones he held most dear.
As the day drew to a close, the Wei Siblings convened around the dinner table, their faces lit by the soft glow of the lanterns. The air was filled with the warm, comforting smells of home-cooked food, and the gentle murmur of conversation.
Wei Sizhui felt a sense of contentment wash over him as he took in the scene before him. His family may not have been conventional, but they were everything to him. He couldn't imagine life without them.
"Thank you for joining us in sparring today, Da-ge," Wei Jingyu said, breaking the peaceful silence. "It meant a lot to me."
Wei Sizhui looked up, meeting his brother's gaze with a warm smile. "It was my pleasure, Jingyu," he replied, his voice filled with affection. "I'm always here for you, whenever you need me."
Wei Sizhui felt a surge of pride as he looked at his brother, so young and full of potential. He knew that with hard work and dedication, Jingyu would one day become a powerful cultivator in his own right.
The rest of the meal passed in a comfortable silence, broken only by the occasional burst of laughter or the clink of chopsticks against porcelain. As the night wore on, Wei Sizhui couldn't help but feel grateful for his family, and the love and support they shared.
While the Ling Yun sect was faring particularly well, the same could not be said for the other Major sects. The Lan sect was still locked in battle against the fierce corpses, and the Jian sect was still recuperating from their previous attack.
The Nie sect mysteriously remained untouched by the fierce corpses, yet no one had taken notice of this anomaly.
The air was thick with tension as the disciples of the Lan sect stood their ground against the encroaching horde of fierce corpses. The moon hung low in the sky, casting eerie shadows across the battlefield and heightening the sense of unease.
Lan Xichen, the leader of the Lan sect, stood at the forefront of his disciples, his sword held at the ready. His usually stoic face was set in a determined expression, his eyes fixed on the enemy before them.
"Stay strong, my disciples," he called out, his voice steady and commanding. "Remember your training and fight with honor."
The fierce corpses let out a collective roar, their eyes glowing an eerie red in the darkness. Then, they charged forward, their movements swift and deadly.
The Lan disciples met them head-on, their swords flashing in the moonlight as they fought with all their might. The air was filled with the sounds of clashing steel and the cries of the wounded.
Lan Xichen moved through the chaos like a force of nature, his sword cutting through the fierce corpses with precision and power. His eyes scanned the battlefield, taking in every detail and issuing orders to his disciples with calm authority.
"Lan Jing, protect the left flank!" he called out, his voice carrying over the din of battle. "Lan zhui, watch your back!"
The battle raged on, the fierce corpses seeming to multiply with every passing moment. But the Lan disciples held their ground, their courage and determination unwavering.
"We can't hold them off forever," Lan Xichen said to his second-in-command, Lan Xin. "We need to find a way to end this." Lan Xin nodded grimly, his face etched with worry. "I agree. But how?"
Before they could come up with a plan, a group of fierce corpses broke through their defenses, their eyes fixed on Lan Xichen.
"Sect leader Lan, watch out!" Lan Xin cried, moving to intercept them.
But Lan Xichen was ready for them, his sword a blur of motion as he dispatched them one by one.
"We need to find their leader," he said, panting slightly from exertion. "If we can take him out, the rest will fall." Lan Xin nodded in agreement, his face set in determination. "Let's do it."
Together, they fought their way through the chaos, their swords flashing in the moonlight as they searched for the leader of the fierce corpses. The battle raged on, the fate of the Lan sect hanging in the balance.
