Chapter 5: Cat Noir

A couple of weeks passed by. Time seemed to have flown since Marinette had started visiting Cat Blanc. Before, her days had been slow without her friends and fighting villains. But now, she had a friend to visit. A boy friend...not a boyfriend, although they did spend many an evening in the Paris streets together...Marinette reconsidered. Maybe he was her boyfriend. Rather than being scared or shocked, the thought put her at peace.

"Marinette, what are you thinking about?"

Marinette turned to her kwami.

"Cat Blanc?" Mullo inquired.

"Yes," Marinette gave in. "Are we dating? We basically go on dates every time we hang out."

"I don't know much about modern relationships," said Mullo. "But I agree...maybe Tikki could help?"

Marinette's eyes darted to the miracle box. It had been a couple of months since she'd used the ladybug miraculous. She hadn't meant to replace Tikki with Mullo, but it had just happened on its own. Maybe that's why Alya's been hanging out more with Zoe, thought Marinette. Maybe Alya didn't favor Zoe or dislike Marinette. Marinette thought back to school. She had been quite distant from everyone lately. Maybe she could socialize with her friends more. As she thought about school, her alarm went off and she checked her phone. Visit Cat Blanc.

"I don't have to think about him when I can see him in person," Marinette looked at Mullo. "Mullo, Get Squeaky!"

Marinette got to the Glass Dome quickly, eager to see Cat Blanc, door key in hands.

"Get silent!"

"Marinette!" exclaimed Cat Blanc. "It's so great to see you, Princess."

"Nine pm as always!"

The two of them met every three days once it was late and spent some time walking around Paris.

"So, where do you want to go tonight?" asked Cat Blanc.

"Wherever you want to take me, Chaton," said Marinette.

She had been enjoying the rides on his back across Paris.

"How about the top of the Eiffel Tower?" suggested Marinette. "I know you used to go there all the time, but it's been a while."

"Sounds freeing," said Cat Blanc.

Being stuck inside the Glass Dome was limiting. Cat missed seeing all of Paris each day during his battles. He stood up and Marinette took off his chains.

"Trixx, Let's Pounce," Marinette made an illusion of Cat Blanc. "Let's Rest."

She unlocked the door and shut it after they left.

"You do know this is a crime, right?" asked Cat Blanc.

"It's not a crime if I was saving an innocent akuma victim," said Marinette. "Besides, I'd be willing to do something kind of illegal if it meant saving you."

"Speaking of saving, do you have a plan yet?"

"For what?"

"For me to go into the public. My powers are under control and you're proof that I'm not dangerous."

"Well, I'd say do it gradually, but if I can easily get you out of the Glass Dome, then I might be able to do it in one fell swoop. But there's definitely a bit of a chance they'd send you back and send me to court."

Cat thought for a bit. Would he be willing to go back and not see Marinette for a while?

"I'm willing to face consequences if you are. If we win them over, we'll never have to worry about hiding again."
