"Sage?" Milo called out as he shivered, he was more than thankful for the heat the fireplace was already putting out as he quickly shut the door. He forgot how much he hated winter in New York sometimes.

"Hey there—-oh my gosh you look as pale as a snowman!" His girlfriend exclaimed, her face splitting into a grin as she hurried over to him.

"Ha..ha.." Nuzzling his cold nose against her warm face had him sighing in bliss. He needed his cold clothes off now and lots of cuddles in front of the fireplace.

"Jesus Milo your literally frozen, come here." Sage pulled her boyfriend quickly towards the loveseat by the fireplace. Taking his jacket and his boots she placed them by the door before she joined him. Milo smiled as she slid under the thick blanket to share body heat.

"What we're you doing out there?"

"I tried waiting for an Uber but it was taking forever. Everyone's out Christmas shopping and trying to catch flights at the airport.. So I walked.."

"Your crazy."

"Crazy for you." He booped her nose before they both cracked up laughing. Things had been going really good lately.

"Speaking of flights.. When's the next one leaving?"

"Well as long as our flight doesn't get canceled again.. We should be back in California...by three in the morning.."

"Well at least there's that.. Can't wait for sunny Santa Monica weather.."

"Me either, I fucking hate the snow." Milo exclaimed, shoving his phone onto the coffee table.

"Same.. but hey it could be worse. We could be stuck in our freezing ass dorms instead of living it up in Cammy's place." Sage snuggled closer to her boyfriend as she sighed in content. When there flight last night was canceled they we're about to head back to their dorm rooms but then Camryn called and insisted they just stay at her apartment. It was closer to the airport and a lot more homey than their dorms. She was also worried that if the flights kept getting canceled they would at least be somewhere safe and could celebrate Christmas on their own. The dorms were lonely this time of year as everyone who could afford it left to go home.

"Cammy always comes through, alright so dinner? What are we thinking?"

"I could kill for some of that baked chicken Alfredo.."

"Yes! Order it!" Milo practically flung his Amex at Sage who just rolled her eyes. "I have your card saved on my postmates no need to fling it about."

.....

Sitting by the fire Milo continued to drink his glass of wine, waiting patiently for his girlfriend to join him again.

Staring at his glass he thought back over the last few months. Never had he thought someone could make him so happy and never did he think he'd be flying out with her to spend the holidays together.

Technically they were from the same city but still Sage was willing to spend Christmas with him and his mom. It meant a lot to him.

Ever since they talked it all out and he finally confessed his feelings things had been more amazing than he ever thought.

Since dropping the girls that were out to ruin his relationship in the first place he was spending more quality time with Sage. As well as finally being confident enough to let her have her own time with her friends now that he knew Noah and him were cool.

Her birthday had came and went..

They didn't have their special night then though. In fact their special night happened completely as a surprise. No planning. No expectations.
