He had promised her of marriage,
And of flowers and happy tears.
The final day had ultimately arrived,
She was ecstatic and devoid of all fears.
Glory was in the air,
The dandelions were bringing warmth to her face,
The daffodils were aiding her,
As she prayed for him to quicken his pace.
A long wait hence, when they told her of his arrival.
She ran down the aisle, hoping to meet her darling with clouds of joy rounded his head.
And there he was,
Smiling....
But, on his Deathbed!
