I get out of the ball pit and slowly walk to the security desk.

'Man, I'm so goddamn tired...'

I flop down on the spinny chair and rest my head on my arms.

"Sunshine, are you ok?"

I let out a muffled groan as a response. Then I use real words.

"Yeah."

"Hm..."

He pulls up a chair and sits beside me, then pats my back soothingly.

"Did you get enough sleep?"

"How did you know?"

"It's really obvious. Just get some rest"

"But...I gotta work"

I turn my head to look at him, my cheek resting on my arms. He gives me a small smile and moves some strands away from my face.

"It's fine! I will take care of everything. Besides, you deserve the break!"

"Hmmm... I guess so. I do have to be wide awake for our sleepover-"

"SLEEPOVER?!"

"Uhhhh yea-"

"STOP TALKING AND RELAX WOMAN!"

His tone immediately turns back to normal and he pats my head, giving me a sweet smile.

He kisses my cheek and gets up from his seat.
