Story featuring young Michael, with a gender neutral reader.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Y/N's POV:
I had been dating William for about 3 years. Then he proposed. We had gotten married 3 months later, and it was amazing. He has 3 beautiful children, Michael, Elizabeth, and C.C. His ex-wife had left after Elizabeth and C.C. were born, and I felt bad for all of them. They were all very sweet, and cute kids. Elizabeth and C.C. had immediately gotten attached to me when I had first moved in with William, which was when I had gotten engaged to him.
Micheal on the other hand, not so much. He would always brush me off when I tried to talk to him, or do something with him. He tried to talk to me as little as he could. William had noticed this, and tried to talk to him about it, but, Michael was less than willing to listen.
I knocked on Michael's door, hoping to do something with him. I heard his footsteps walk to the door, and fling it open. He glared at me for a moment, then rolled his eyes. "What do you want?" He snickered. I sighed. "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go get ice cream with me. Just me and you." I gave him a smile. He groaned as he closed the door to his room shut.
"Well that was a waste..." I muttered. I went back downstairs to sit on the couch and watch TV. A bit later, I heard Michael's footsteps coming down the stairs. He glanced at me, then walked into the kitchen. "Michael." I said. He looked in my direction, furrowing his brows. "What?" He grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. "Is there something wrong? This whole time, ever since I've been here, you barely talk to me. Why is that?"
He paused. "You will never be like my actual mom." I sighed. "I understand that, I know I'll never be like her, but I still want to be here to support you." He stayed silent for a moment. He slowly made his way over to me. "Can we go get ice cream still?" I smiled at him. "Of course we can, Michael."
Later that evening, while William and I were getting ready for bed, Micheal quietly knocked on the door. "Come in." William said. He slowly made his way in. "Where's Y/N?" He asked. "I'm right here, do you need something?" I asked while walking out of the bathroom. He nodded. "Can you come tuck me in?" I gave him a smile and nodded. "Of course I can!" I picked him up, and carried him to his room, and tucked him into his bed. "Y/N?" "Yes?" He paused. "Can... Can I call you [parental name]?" "Awe, of course."
He gave me a smile. "Goodnight [parental name]!" I smiled at him once more. "Goodnight Michael."
