OFF THE STREETS

CUT OUT

Bakugou woke up to the sound of distant muttering, leading him to sit up in bed. He quickly stretched, hearing loud chattering from the living room. The blonde stood up, sliding on his silk pajamas as he hurried out the room, curious of what was happening. He soon reached the source, seeing his friends surrounding someone else. He was clearly another homeless, sitting down in the living room. He had wounds on his face, cuts and scars. His clothes were filthy, and he didn't seem in the mood to talk too much. He kept his blue eyes planted to the ground, his blonde hair covering a part of them.

"Good morning, bro! This is Monoma- He waltzed in sometime during the night." Kirishima exclaimed, noticing Katsuki. The blonde flinched, approaching the situation. He immediately spotted Midoriya, sitting next to Monoma and handing him a cup of soup. He listened as his friends chattered, some talking to the unresponsive blonde. Monoma seemed to be disliking his situation, which is probably why Midoriya asked everybody to leave for some short time. Before Katsuki knew it, he had returned to his room, tidying up. He placed his dirty laundry in his basket, carrying it out to the basement. He placed the basket amongst others, heading back upstairs. He ran into the new male, who completely ignored his presence and made his way to the room next door, most likely his new bedroom.

Bakugou made the choice to ignore the new blonde, not wanting to force him into any discomforting situations. Therefore, he decided to enter his own bedroom. His eyes immediately landed on a pair of dirty socks, which had been partially hidden under his bed. The blonde sighed, irritated as he picked up the pair and walked off into the hall again. He made his way to the basement, running into his special someone. He stopped in his tracks, halfway down the stairs as he looked down towards the washing and drying machines. Izuku seemed quite adorable, sorting out the dirty laundry baskets as he gently hummed a song. Katsuki couldn't make out the tune since he was watching from the staircase, enjoying the view. He watched as Midoriya turned to rest a basket on top of two washers, eyes locking with crimson orbs.

"Ah, Kacchan! Did you forget something?" The greenette exclaimed, smiling at him. Katsuki flinched, continuing his path down the stairs. He gently handed the socks over to the smaller male, who giggled as he dropped them in his basket.

"Did you need help?" The blonde offered, nervously looking around. He hated doing eye-contact with the greenette, often feeling pressured or judged. He felt so intimidating, always wanting to look away. Even though, once he's alone, all he can think about is Midoriya's beautiful eyes.

"Uh- No. I should be fine. Thanks though!" The small male exclaimed, continuing his task. Katsuki nervously shifted, unsure whether this was his cue to leave or not.

"So... There's someone new?" Bakugou spoke, hesitant. He immediately noticed a smile appear on his friend's face, turned to lock eyes again. Katsuki tried his best to keep looking into the emerald shapes, but often found himself looking away.

"Yeah! Neito Monoma! He came in just as I woke up... Around 3, this morning. He's a nice guy- Have you talked to him, yet?" Izuku asked, dropping Kaminari's load into one of the washing machines.

"No, I haven't." Katsuki responded. Midoriya pressed a few buttons, suddenly hearing the machine begin to work. He then moved over to the second one, picking out Ashido's laundry.

"You should. I'm sure you two would get along... I think he's a bit shy, though. You should go talk to him, right now!" Midoriya excitedly suggested, looking over to the blonde as he put the second machine into work. "Besides, I have some business to take care of, so you won't be able to hang out with me for the next hour or so." The greenette giggled. Katsuki nodded, smiling as he followed the short male up the stairs again. Before he knew it, he found himself standing next to his room, facing the door Neito had walked through earlier.

He sighed shakily, pressed a few knocks on the wooden frame before opening the door. He immediately noticed the blonde, sitting on the edge of the unmade bed. Bakugou smiled shyly, looking around the blank room.

"What?"

Bakugou flinched, eyes landing back on the gloomy person.

"Uh... I'm... Katsuki Bakugou. Nice to meet you." The tall blonde spoke, handing over his hand towards the newbie. He watched as the blue-eyed male scoffed, shaking his head in what seemed like disappointment.

"Are you fucking dumb? You all are, aren't you?" The dirty blonde male muttered angrily, clutching his fists on his knees. Bakugou immediately retracted his hand, confused.

"What do you mean?" He asked, hesitant.

"What do I mean? Fuck, dumbasses. You guys think that green guy cares about all of you, right?" Monoma spat, looking up through his dirty bangs. Katsuki shifted his position, unsure of what to respond to such a comment.

"Of course, he cares about us. He gives us food and shelter, clothes and showers. He laughs and jokes with us... We're kind of like a family, here." The blonde held back a smile at the thought of his crush, his heart fluttering at the thought. This feeling suddenly disappeared when Neito cackled lowly.

"Oh, bullshit. Are you blind? This place is nothing but a money-maker, for him. Every person he gets here, he advises the government for extra money. Only, he keeps most of the money, for his own pay, and you'll only receive maybe two percent of it. He only has us around for himself to get rich. Plus, if somebody requires medical service, he gets an even bigger boost of money. Every person here, is nothing but dead meat to him. He's nice to everyone, so he can lure more homeless people in, and get more money. Don't you see that?" Monoma explained, occasionally looking up to Katsuki. It took a few seconds for the information to seep into Bakugou's skull.

He wanted to deny it, but everything he said made perfect sense.

Izuku always seemed so happy when someone else arrives, but suddenly loses interest after a while. He begins to look for someone new to drag in. Bakugou frowned at the thought, thinking the greenette wouldn't be the type to do such a thing. Then again, if what Neito said was true, then Izuku's personality was nothing but fake.

"If... If you don't like it here, and you're only here to complain, then leave." Katsuki shivered, the thought lurking in his mind. He walked out the room, entering his own, all without forgetting the lecture he had just received.

The next day, Neito Monoma was nowhere to be found. He had most likely returned to the streets, leaving absolutely nothing behind. Nothing except the words that had stung Katsuki's heart.

The words that led him to flee his safe space as well.
