My pearl - Stranger things, Max Mayfied

1. Suzie, do you copy?

It was now the end of June, Vivvie's birthday has just passed about a month ago, making her now 14. She asked Steve if she could work with him at Scoops ahoy and, surprisingly, he didn't care. So there she was, waiting in the break room for the party to get there.

She had a co-worker, her name was Robin Buckley, and apparently she had shared a class with her brother. Her and Robin had grown close, even though she had just started working there about a week ago.

Dustin was at summer camp. He's supposed to come back the next day, and they have a surprise for him when he comes home. It includes ignoring him, which Vivvie didn't like, but she went along with it anyways. When the bell rang Robin yelled to the back "Hey, dingus, your children are here."

Steve opened up the window with an annoyed expression on his face making Vivvie stand up beside him. "Again? Seriously?"

Vivvie took Steve's hat off his head "Don't be a party pooper, Stevie."

Mike just rang the bell again making Steve sigh and Vivvie walk to the door to open it  for them to walk through it. Steve opened the door to the back hallway and held the door open with his foot so the kids could walk through it. When Vivvie walked past him he snatched his hat out of her hand.

"Come on, come on." Steve started rushing them out the door reminding Vivvie of all the times he did that last year.

"Calm your nerves down. Were coming."

Steve just ignored her and told then "I swear, if anybody hears about this..."

"We're dead!" They cut him off before he could start threatening them, again.

Mike opened the theater door and looked around for any people "All clear." he told them while walking through the door and into the movie, the rest following him.

They were all sitting down and getting comfy in the chairs. The movie Day of the dead was starting on the screen. It had just came out a few weeks ago and Vivvie was dying to see the movie, and it's a plus one that shes watching it with her friends and girlfriend.

She was sitting next to Max with Lucas being on the other side of her. Mike and Will were in the row behind them.

"See, Lucas? We made it." Mike whispered

"We missed the previews." Lucas whispers back.

"Still made it. Fart face."

"Wait, what? I'm confused." Vivvie asked but before Max could clear up the confusion someone shushes them from behind them.

"I'll tell you later." Max tells her.

Will hands Lucas a drink and Skittles from his backpack. Lucas hands Max the Skittles bag and whispers "Skittles."

"Thanks." She puts the bag on her and Vivvies arm rest so they could share it. Vivvie starts grabbing out any of the red ones she sees and eats them. She then puts her focus back onto the movie.

After a couple of seconds the screen flickers off and everyone starts complaining.

"Come on!"

"Come on!"

"Seriously?"

After about five minutes the movie flickers back on making everyone cheer and clap in excitement. Vivvie and Max looked at each other and Vivvie almost melted right there. That was the most biggest smile she had ever seen on her face since the Snowball from last year. She was lucky it was slightly dark in the theater so Max couldn't see how hard she was blushing. Everyone then stops cheering and puts their focus back on the movie.
