Pretend he doesn't exist

Things calmed down considerably after the sex situation. The day after, neither of you made any comment about the conversation you had, instead, you moved on with your lives as if nothing happened. It was... odd because now there was a mutual unspoken agreement not to bring hook-ups home. The good thing is that the end of the sex war brought peace to your household. Not only there was no need to prove anything anymore, but also it allowed you to move on from your negative fixation on Dean. It made you decide not to give him any more attention than necessary. Sure, you've spent most of the time you've known him loathing his womanizer attitude, but then again, you had the same response when he provoked you. Talk about being a hypocrite.

The situation also allowed you to reflect on the reasons why you've never gotten along with Dean. You were not pleased to admit that Meg had been right... you don't really know who Dean Winchester is beyond the bad boy facade he lets everyone see. Are you interested in getting to know him? No, not really. Nevertheless, you're willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt now that you've lived with him. After all, who he sleeps with is none of your business. So, you decided to wave out the white flag, as long as he doesn't step out of the line with you.

He might've found the same resolve because from that moment onwards you basically ignored each other. Sure, you lived in the same house, thus inevitably run into each other, but that was it. Your interactions receded to the bare minimum. It also helped that your work schedules were busy and unmatched. You wouldn't even call him a roommate because he's more like the other person who lives in your house when you're not around. It's a stark contest of your living arrangement with Meg. With her, you would take turns preparing food or doing house chores. With Dean simpler, everyone prepares their meal and does their chores. As for the common areas of the house, you usually take turns week to week. And apparently, that was also part of an unspoken agreement because you've never actually decided to split mopping and dusting the kitchen. It became a natural order of things.

However, the lack of interaction doesn't mean that you don't notice him. Of couse you did. You're aware of when he's home and when he isn't. You hear him leave the shower to prepare for work early in the morning. It's almost impossible not to notice him. He has a powerful aura that demands attention. You understand how girls are smitten with him. But that isn't it, because you also cannot comprehend why they can not see that Dean Winchester is a man born not to be tied down to a single woman. His lack of commitment is something they should be aware of.

"Yes, yes, Charlie, I'm on my way."

Charlie, on the other line of the phone, scoffs. "You were supposed to be here fifteen minutes ago!"

You run around the house looking for your wallet. It's somewhere in the living room, you are sure of it.

"I know, but I took a nap and completely lost track of time" you whisper apologetically. "I'll be there in ten."

"Fiiiine," she relents. "Quickly." And then she hangs up.

A few days ago, you decided to arrange a get-together with Charlie and Meg. You haven't seen them since the wedding. It was the perfect opportunity to catch up and complain about your problems. But like you told Charlie, you took a nap and lost track of time. Now you're running late and can't find your wallet.

"C'mon, c'mon..." you instantly spot it on the bookshelves, under some magazines.

You pick it up in a hurry, and to your anguish, the sudden movement causes the papers to go sprawling on the floor. You groan and bent to pick them up. One particular magazine catches your eye. There, in big red bold letters, it reads:

Busty Asian Beauties

On the cover, a Japanese woman is posing erotically, showing her cleavage that is barely covered by a brassiere. Ugh, you don't need to be a genius to know who this belongs to. As on cue, the front door opens soundly and Dean steps into your view. At first, he doesn't pay you any attention, that is until he realizes what you're holding. He freezes.
