You can't stop thinking about Dean Winchester. You just can't. When Monday arrived, you did what you said and resigned from your job. They weren't expecting you to do that, but no one really tried to stop you from it. Nevertheless, it was very unpleasant to find out that your company didn't care enough for them to offer you more. Your boss was well aware that the promotion was yours and not Marcus'. And the only thing they did was tell you to 'take care' while you marched through the door. When you told Dean about it, he tried to cheer you up with beers and pie. It isn't your favorite combination, but you appreciated the gesture.
A month has already gone by and you haven't found another job. Even though you still pay rent to Dean for the housing, he refuses to let you buy any groceries. You've managed to ignore him quite a few times, and you paid with your savings despite his protests. It's embarrassing to think that the Winchester that used to be your nemesis is basically supporting you financially.
Moreover, not having a job also gives you a lot of free time that you use with your friends and your roommate. The times which you would spend watching Dr. Sexy , are now also employed to do other things. For example, you play board games, cook dessert together, or you just talk about your lives and the things you like. Anything, really, anything that you do with Dean Winchester seems to be the right thing to do. You have realized that you share an amazing chemistry. And, probably, if things had started differently between you and him, you would've become friends since the very beginning. Though, now is not a bad time to do it. Your friends and Dean are probably the only reason that you haven't fallen into desperation after losing your job. Charlie, ever the great one, has set up on herself to send your résumé to nearly every company in the area that might require your services. Truth be told, there's a certain emptiness within you from not knowing how to follow up in your life. You just hope that eventually, everything will turn out good, otherwise, you're probably gonna have to move back with your parents and that is the last thing you want.
"Honey, I don't think you should be drinking that."
"Back off, Castiel."
The bickering of your friends calls back your attention from your thoughts. Castiel doesn't try to convince Meg anymore and lets her do as she pleases. The pair have been trying to conceive the kids, and they have a detailed list of what to do and what not to do, which includes meals. It's kind of weird, but you'll support your friends no matter what. Even so, Meg rarely follows the indications. In all honesty, you were kind of surprised when she told you she wanted kids two days ago, considering that after they married she claimed they didn't want any. Mother Meg doesn't really fit in your head, but you'll support her.
"Stop fighting, it's just one beer, Cas," Dean comes to your friend's aide.
The night is still young, you've decided to hang out with your friends in the bar downtown. Meg and Castiel are here, also Sam, Charlie, Benny, and Dean. The only ones that decided to sit this one out are Jack, because he said he had an early shift in the morning, and Ruby, because she didn't want to see Sam's face. As such, you're now back in Dean Winchester's presence, not that it matters because even when you're not, he keeps popping into your mind. It's kind of annoying, really.
"Yes, Castiel, it's just one beer!" Charlie mocks. Dean just throws her a side glance as he places the rest of the beers on the table.
"It's just that studies have proven that procreation is more efficient if..."
Benny doesn't even let Castiel finish, "yeah, no, I'm gonna stop you right there, brother." He grimaces, "I really don't want to hear about your sex life."
You nod, supporting Benny's comment, while you take the beer Dean's offering you. He settles beside you.
"Well, maybe we can talk about something else," Sam says.
