Just as she uttered those two words, Robert swiftly took out a gun similar to that of the two men and aimed it at her. He moved past me and held her by the neck, one arm around her neck and the other aiming the gun at her.

I take out my wrench and throw it at one of their feet. I throw my torch at the others face and while they fumble to get into position I flick away their guns and aim it at them.

"Let's make them sit on the chairs and tie them up first, Robert." I say not taking my eyes off the two men.

He nods and moves the lady towards one of the chairs. He motions her to sit with the gun still aiming at her. She sits down with a stubborn look on her face.

I put one of the gun under my arm and pull out the rope from my belt and throw it at Robert. He catches it and starts tying her up.

I motion the men to move towards the chair too. They do so without a word. I bet these guns are really powerful.

Once he is done tying up the lady, Robert moves on to the men as I aim one gun at the woman and the other at the men.

The three of them are now in our control. Robert takes his gun and stands next to me aiming at the men as I zero in on the woman.

"Come on , lady. Open up." I say looking at her. Her face is small and petite but the way she looks at you makes you believe that she's up to no good. Slender body, tiny face are good enough to disguise the devil in her.

"What do you want to know?" She asks staying abnormally calm.

"Who are you? What do you want?" A common dialogue repeated in every thriller.

"To answer your first question: We are basically neuroscientists aiming for evolution. In this vast world, speed of neurons is not the same in all. We are trying to correct it and make the ones with a good pace better."

"What about the rest?" Robert asks.

"Honey, we kill them. We call them glitches, you know the ones we get in a game. They are better removed or the gamers get annoyed. Similarly, it's as we take it , our duty to remove the glitches and present people a perfect world."She says looking at him in a sympathetic way.

"So that's why you killed my friend. Just because the speed of his neurons weren't fast enough for you." He says.

"Darling, he was just coming in my way. He was creating such a fuss about the abduction. He was smart but not as smart and quick as you are."

"What do you mean?" I ask

"Honey, your presence of mind and quick reflexes are perfect for my experiment. You volunteer or not, I'm going to take both of you as my experiment. I'm trying to create a world where only the quickest exist. I'm afraid the others, who are too slow to survive are coming as a burden to the world. So it's better to eradicate them at a younger age itself."

"Who are you to do that? We have our government to think of such things. You don't have any legal power to take such an action." Robert says

"That's true, dear. Unfortunately, we don't. But as a responsible citizen, we do have the right to strive for development. Once all the Evolved join us, there is nothing in this world that can stop us."

"What do you mean by 'The Evolved'?" I ask moving towards her.

"The ones who have been evolved into better humans of course. Smart, quick and strong ones. Like the ones standing right behind you." She says giving an evil smile.

I turn around and see four figures. Two female and two male. They slowly come forward, heads down in anger, like a bull barging in ,in slow-motion.

When they come to light I look at their faces. One of the guy is Dan, Becca's brother and the other is someone I don't recognize. My eyes move towards the females. A girl with short black hair and green make up is looking at me with vengeful eyes. Next to her is a girl with wavy blonde hair and eyes that look just like my mom's. She stares at me with the same look as the black haired girl and I don't recognize her. She never looked at me that way. She can't be her. Her warm eyes which gave me courage are now looking at me with disgust. This can't be happening.

Both the girls move towards me and I stand there numb and shocked by the way my sister looked at me.

No Cyn! It's not you.

They have turned my little sister into a monster. They snarl and pounce on me like I'm a prey.
