The morning sun's rays slithered through the windows.I rubbed my eyes lazily and stared down at my toes. A sense of worry washed over me. What if my new life ended up being terrible? Wondering what was ahead for me, I got out of bed.

Warm smells of breakfast wafted out from the kitchen. Eggs and bacon sizzled nosily on the frypan. Emily hummed a tune and worked the coffee machine.

"Morning! You're up early!" she sang cheerfully, turning around to face me, "How would you like your eggs, Minhee?"
"Half cooked, thanks," I smiled.

Squinting at the shopping list, I slipped on my shoes and pushed open the door. "Don't forget to try and make some friends, Minhee!" Emily called from the kitchen.

Mud sloshed around my shoes. I breathed in the crisp morning air. Birds chirped in the distance. I set off towards the town.

Heading to the supermarket, I watched as people rushed to get to work on time. I stared at the shops. Shop owners sleepily opened their shops, ready for service.

Suddenly, I heard a loud pained groan. Gasping quietly, I turned towards the sound. A dark alleyway. Fear penetrated my heart. "Hello...? Is anyone there? Are you hurt?" I called.

Sounds of shuffling and a muffled voice responded back. I stepped into the dark alley. "Where are you?" I asked cautiously. I took another step. "Can you make a sound?" A shadowy figure lay silently on the groud ahead.

The figure was motionless except for the sharp breaths that the person took when breathing in and out. Crouching down, I stretched my arm forward and tapped the figure on the shoulder.

The body tensed for a moment before flipping over. I stared at the boy in surprise. Wounds covered his face. Blood was smeared all over his face and body. It was nearly impossible to see his face under all the blood and scars.

I shook him gently. "Can you hear me?" I asked softly. His eyelids fluttered slightly. "Are you awake?" I reached out and touched his cheek. He shivered under my touch and opened his eyes. I gasped with relief. "I'll call the ambulance for you. You need to go to the hospital for treatment." The boy didn't respond. He stared blankly at my shoes. "I'll be back." I said, standing up.
"No you won't" he suddenly said.
"What..?" I glanced down.
He glared back angrily. "You won't come back. Once someone leaves you, they never come back."
Stunned, I watched as he attempted to stand up again before falling back onto the ground unconscious. I gaped at the weak boy. His words echoed in my ears. Once they leave you, they never come back.

Tears filled my eyes. I knew this was the ugly truth. They never come back. Of course. This world is full of betrayal and liars. I sank to the ground with a thud. Of course. Betrayal and liars.

I walked weakly out of the dark alleyway. Once they leave you, they never come back. The words echoed on and on.

The boy lay on the clean hospital bed, sleeping peacefully. His face was washed up and it was easy to see his face. He was quite handsome. Radiance shone from his face. I leaned forward and studied his skin. Why is it so smooth?

"PARK JIMIN!" A frantic voice ran out in the hospital. A woman came running towards my direction. "Oh dear! Why are you like this again?!" she cried, throwing her hands up in frustration. She must be his family. Standing up slowly, I silently edged away from the hospital bed.

She whipped her head around and eyed me suspiciously. She put her hands on her hips, "Who are you?" she asked.
