2 - The Topic of Ownership
Ashton entered the dark building with a scowl on his face as he usually did.
He was on a mission to enter The End and find Michael who he knew had to of been around there somewhere. His sadistic lover hadn't been home for four days and Ashton knew it was thanks to Calum's doing.
Ashton wanted to find Michael and bring him home. He missed having his lover next to him, even if he knew the dangerous man was thinking about his next murder while doing so.
Ashton just wanted Michael back home...
"You know you're technically not allowed in here." He heard as soon as he walked into the dark chapel, "It's almost Halloween...I can't be too lenient on you anymore."
The End was a dark place barely being lit up by dull, dark lights. Large drapes were hung over all the windows, not allowing the natural light inside the building. The main room was the chapel with the random hallways and rooms in the back.
The chapel was a unique space. It was made up of black wood, floors, and furniture. In the very middle at the end of the chapel, the main worship was a portrait of a dying woman. It was hand-painted, showing her ending life and her misery. Her face was shown bruised and bloodied. Her eyes were bloodshot with fear; she knew what was coming to her.
Ashton didn't completely understand the picture. But it's not like he truly wanted to know.
"I know." Ashton said lowly, peering at Luke knowingly, "You aren't either."
"Being the cult leader's husband gives me perks." Luke hummed out, crossing his arms, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for Michael. He hasn't been home in four days."
"He's with Calum."
"I assumed..." Ashton scoffed before looking at Luke seriously, "Are you not alarmed that your husband cheats on you?"
"Is it cheating if I know about it and have my own partners?" Luke smirked darkly, making Ashton's eyes widen.
Ashton was a monogamous man. He hated that Michael was running off to Calum. And what he heard next only made it all worse.
"And it's not like Calum doesn't share Michael with me."
"What?" Ashton glared harshly at the blonde man, "He's not Calum's. He can't just share him!"
"Are you claiming he's yours then?"
"Yes! How is that so hard to understand? We're partners!"
"Have a great time bringing up the topic of ownership to Calum." Luke said amused, "But whatever. Run around, get killed for all I care. It's not my problem."
With that said, Luke calmly walked down the corridor of the chapel. Ashton didn't miss how Luke softly laid his hand on the portrait for a few seconds before turning into one of the hallways to take his leave.
Ashton glanced around not knowing where to start his search. He sighed out, hating The End. He really did hate the place to no extent. He's been there a few times before with the same mission of finding Michael when he wouldn't come back home.
It was usually easy. He'd run into Luke who brought Michael to him. Or Michael would already be in the chapel for Ashton to find. But it was different this time. Ashton had to go hunting.
He slowly walked down the corridor, unable to look away from the portrait that he was getting closer and closer to with each step. The woman was becoming more desperate and more...dead.
"Don't touch her."
Ashton stopped his movements as soon as he heard a dark, deadly voice. He felt instant fear go down his spine. It felt like he was unable to move with how afraid he was. And he didn't know why.
He heard slow, loud footsteps that were echoing off the chapel's walls. They were getting closer and closer to him, and he was still unable to move.
"What are you doing here, Ashton?"
Ashton slowly turned around, being faced with a man full of evilness. Ashton had never met Calum before; he hadn't even seen what he looks like. He's only heard stories of him. But he just knew it was him.
"I'm here for Michael."
"Michael is fine here. He's having fun."
"I don't care. He can't just not come home."
"Says who?"
"Me! His partner."
Calum scoffed, "And I'm his owner."
Ashton narrowed his eyes in distaste from this statement. As Michael's boyfriend, Ashton obviously didn't like or agree with what Calum said.
"Just..." Ashton took in a deep breathe, "Tell me where he is."
Calum remained quiet, looking past Ashton's head and looking at the portrait. Ashton narrowed his eyes again, but this time in confusion. He didn't know what Calum was doing.
Calum hummed while he was still looking at the portrait, finally and eventually looking back at Ashton.
"I'll send him your way." He said briefly, not even waiting for Ashton's response before starting to walk down the chapel.
"Thank you." Ashton said lowly.
"It wasn't for you."
Then who was it for?
