"Woorrrttthhhyyyy" Came a haunting and broken voice. I turned to see if I could figure out where it was coming from. Outside the lift stood a extremely broken figure. It looked like it was made of broken Iron legion parts.
"No. How could you be worthy, you're all killers." The broken robot stated.
"Tony?" Steve questioned
"Jarvis?" Dad asked but Jarvis didn't reply, jarvis always replies. I slowly took the weaponised chopsticks out of my hair.
"I'm sorry I was asleep. Or was I a dream." Dad tried to reboot the program but there was still no sign of Jarvis "There was this terrible noise and I was tangled in...in strings. Had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy."
"You killed someone?" Steve asked
"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world we're faced with ugly choices."
"Who created you?" I wondered he stopped and a the sound of rewind played before.
'I see a suit of armour around the world' It was Dad voice, I slowly turned my head towards him. What had he done?
"Ultron?" Banner breathed. So he must have been in on this too. What the hell had they been doing in that lab that could of created this
"In the flesh. Or no not yet. Not this Chrysalis. But I'm ready. I'm on mission." Ultron went on. I kicked my heels off, preparing for a fight.
"What mission?" Nat inquired
"Peace in our time." he answered just as Broken forms of the Iron Legion busted through the walls. Steve kicked up the table blocking the first attack. More came through I ran and jumped tacking one of them stabbing the bot and sending and electrical impulse through shortcutting it. We dropped and I landed on my feet. I went for another but was tackled through the glass of the balcony. I landed with thud and groaned. I got back up and made my way to the fight. I saw Nat who had two guns.
"Nat, gun!" i yelled she threw me one and I started shooting.
"Cap!" Clint through his shield to him and took another one down. That was the second to last one.
"Well that was dramatic." Ultra sassed. I dropped to the ground throbbing in pain. "I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through, you want to protect the world but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve. With these? These puppets"
"One could argue..." i groaned capturing it's attention "How is it safe when things beyond imitate comprehension attacked them for no reason other than to conquer and kill."
"You make a wise argument, Reign Stark. But there is only one path to peace. The Avengers extinction." Thor threw Mjolinr before Ultron could make a move. Now that was the last one.
"I had strings but now i'm free." It powered down. There was a long moment of silence.
"Okay, I'll say it first. What the fuck?" I tried to stand but it was only now that I was acutely aware of my injuries. "Shit." Thor rushed over to me and lifted me up.
"Follow me to the lab." Dr Cho said and he did. I was laid down and the other all came in as Dr Cho tended to my wounds. Mostly it was just cuts from the glass shards.
"I think you might have a fractured rib or two but without an x-ray, I can't tell for sure." She told me
"Thanks, Doc." I breathed.
"All our work is gone." Banner breathed in shock "Ultron cleared out. He used the internet as an escape hatch."
"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." Natasha stated, Steve brought over an ice pack, I gave him a small smile as I held it to my chest.
"He's in your files he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Uncle Rhodey asked
"Nuclear launch codes" Hill added
"Nuclear codes. Look we need to make some calls, assuming we still can." Rhodes continued
"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead" Nat stated
"He didn't say dead he said extinct." Steve corrected her as I rest my head on his shoulder. I needed painkillers, some really strong ones.
"He also said he killed somebody." Clint continued
"There wasn't anyone else in the building." Hill confirmed
"Yes there was." Dad flicked his phone and a image of jarvis' mainframe came up it was broken on the verge of completely destroyed.
"Jarvis." I muttered sliding off and stumbling towards the hologram "Oh what did he do to you?"
"This is insane?" Banner breathed
"Jarvis was the first line of defence. He would of shut Ultron down, it makes sense." Steve figured
"No, Ultron could have assimilated Jarvis. This isn't stratagem, this is rage." Thor stomped in now back in his armour and grabbed dad by the throat.
"Seems to be going around." Steve commented
"Reign do something." Rhodes urged but I stood there, said nothing, did nothing.
"Come on buddy used your words" Dad wheezed
"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." He growled at him
"Seriously, Reign." Banner urged
"What?" I shouted and everyone went silent "What do you want me to do. Bruce? He is well within his rights to do that. You bozo's created something that you have now lost control of. It attacked us. This isn't some alien army, terrorist group, disgruntled guy with rejection issues, Asgardian destroyer of even a super secret organisation. This is the two of you in this lab messing with something you shouldn't have." I raged then turned on Dad
"You." I pointed at him as he had un ushered tears and my voice broke "You have done some crazy shit and I've even followed you into it but this...this is all on you" I gestured to my scratched and bruised self "No one else hurt me, you did. You and him by creating it. So no I won't stop Thor because in regards to this he should be pissed he's only doing what I don't have the strength to do." I dropped to the floor weak. Thor let go of my Dad and knelt down next to me.
"Thor, the legionnaire?" Steve questioned after a long pause
"Trail went cold about 100 miles out but it's headed north. And it has the sceptre, now we have to retrieve it, again." Thor replied
"Genies out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron." Nat replied
"I don't understand." Dr Cho said " You built this program, why is it trying to kill us?" Dad started chuckling.
"You think this is funny?" Thor helped me to stand
"No, It's probably not right? This is very terrible. Is it so? Is it so terrible?" He asked
"You son of a bitch." I mustered every once of strength I had which was not much at this point to stomp over angrily. Thor pulled me back.
"You think now is a time to laugh. We almost died. I almost died!" his smile dropped "Your program woke those bots who tacked me through a glass balcony onto a glass window. I'm lucky it didn't smash or I would be dead and you find that amusing?"
"No, No I never said that? I never thought..."
"That is the whole point you didn't think, neither of you did. You're so freaking paranoid about protecting the whole world that you hurt the person you care about the most. Look at me Dad. Look at me!" I screamed in his face "Every scratch, every bruise, ever possible fracture is on you. This could have all been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand. Now you find a way to fix this or so help me God I am done." I hobbled out of the lab
