"Hey freeks! You suckin' off a demon over there?!"
The guy's friend cackled as Morgan's face flushed in anger.
"Hey asshole! Mind your own business!" Bailey shot back.
The two guys continued their laughs and insults, making Morgan's brain buzz painfully. She got up from the small bench and stormed off into the school building. She made a beeline to the bathroom where she wrestled through the contents of her bag till she pulled out what she was searching for.
She popped the first bottle and downed two of the little white pills, then a sleeping pill for good measure. She stared at herself in the mirror, waiting for the drugs to take effect.
She looked into her baggy, cloud blue eyes, wishing to close them. She combed her skinny pale fingers through her short, matted blonde hair, trying her best to soothe the excessive pounding.
She hated those stupid jerks who made fun of her and her friends. She hated how they were nicknamed the freeks - a cross between "freak" and "geek" - just because they liked ghosts and paranormal stuff. Most of all, she hated her whole damn life.
Eversince she was a baby, Morgan hadn't been normal.
The earliest memory she had of her unnatural nature was when she was five. It was fuzzy, yet she could see her dolls moving on their own as she commanded them to.
She did it all with her mind.
Then some time when she was seven or eight - shortly after the disappearance of her father - her mother had prescribed her "special" pills to help with her powers. Two a day eversince then.
She was seventeen now.
Morgan hated the bitter taste of the pills. But she knew that not taking them would earn her a lengthy guilt trip.
Morgan sighed with relief as her brain began to numb. The buzzing faded away, stopping the cursed powers. For now at least.
After some touching up, Morgan pulled out a tall energy drink she had stashed away at the bottom of her backpack. Deep down, she knew it was unhealthy - especially since this was her third one - but one look down at the slowly fading slash marks across her stomach made her change her mind real quick.

Morgan met up with her best friend, Bailey, along with the rest in the Cafeteria. Andrew - the leader in a way - was showing off his latest planchette he'd been saving up for. Bailey sat next to her boyfriend, Parker, while Morgan sat across from them.
"Hey, are you ok now?" Bailey asked, touching her hand.
"Yeah...just tired." Morgan smiled weakly.
"Yeah, you look like you haven't slept in days."
Morgan resisted the urge to nod.
"Hey Morg, I was just about to ask: you willing to go on a little trip outside of town?" Andrew asked enthusiasticly.
"'Outside of town'? What for?"
"There's somewhere not too far from here that could be a paranormal hotspot! Sooooo?" He pushed his glasses down to cheekily peer at her.
Morgan shook her head in disbelief. "What's even out there exactly?"
Andrew looked overjoyed, then pulled up a picture on his phone.
"That right there!"
Morgan squinted at the picture of cozy wooden cabins with a giant glittering lake behind it, reading the sign posted in front of it.
"Camp Crystal Lake? Never heard of it."
Andrew looked at her as if she had just cursed him out. "How could you not?! It's only one of the best places to scope out for supernatural activity!"
"Oh really?" Parker butted in, "Looks like some kids summercamp to me."
"That's cuz this is an old photo of the place. It's been abandoned for years eversince a camper died there!"
The whole group looked to him, intrigued. Andrew smiled devilishly.
Putting on his best campfire voice, he whispered, "Long ago, when the camp was still running, there was a young camper there named Jason.
Sources say that he had a horribly disfigured face, making all the kids there horrendously mock and torture him. Then, one day, all the kids chased Jason into the lake, causing him to drown to his death.
Eversince then, there have been stories about his ghost roaming the long forgotten campsite."
Morgan smiled, "Well shit, sign me up then! When are we going? Is everyone going?"
Bailey looked at the table, "Me and Parker are doing something today, so I won't be going."
"Yeah, you nerds can go explore. Just make sure to bring back something that'll get everyone in this shithole to believe us." Parker stuffed a handful of fries into his mouth.
Although Morgan was pretty disappointed that Bailey wasn't going, she was still eager to go see an actual place with potential ghost sightings. Perhaps a few pictures would finally get them some respect.
"OK. So, tonight?"
Andrew nodded happily. Morgan smiled as she and the others spent the rest of their lunch period conversing about ghosts, the occult and
Jason Vorhees.
