chapter 2: letting the cat out of the bag

miko dashed towards bulk, who was in his alternate form, holding her book bag close.

"bulkhead! you wont believe what i managed to catch" 

bulkhead  sighed "catch?"

"yeah! i'll show you at base!" miko exclaimed.

despite bulkheads better judgement, he didnt have the time to question miko, they were needed at the base asap so he began to change gears and drove off towards the direction of the base.

 
at said base, miko could barely contain her excitement when she got out of the car.

"ok miko... what did you want to show me..." bulkhead nerviously said, hoping it wasnt something bad like a scraplet, they had just got rid of a infestation last week.

miko then proceeded to open her bag and take out a rather large red cat with a bushy tail. the cat was hissing and spiting everywhere until it was put safely on the floor where it began to arch its back up and poof out its tail.

" miko, why did you bring a cat here?!" the voice came form jack, who put his hand out to stop Raphiel from getting any closer.

" i saw it near the trash" miko stated.

" i think its a stray" raf mentioned.

the cat began to look around the room and then looked back to bulkhead and froze, its pupils becoming small and pointy. bulkhead looked back at it and waved his hand a little.

"hi?"

the cat booked it, at first running into one direction but seeming to change after realizing that it was headed for a wall and ran into another. 

"we have to catch the cat!" jack yelled running towards it. miko followed suit.

jack jumped at the cat while miko came at it from the side, causing the cat to head towards raf to where it jumped on this pants and lunged itself on his back, clinging on for dear life.

"miko, what were you thinking bringing a cat here?" jack stated out of breath

"well i wasnt going to leave it behind now, was I?"

" where is it suppose to go? to sleep? to eat? this is a autobot base not a cat center" jack replied.

"jack has a point miko, we cant keep it here" bulkhead finally said.

"cant keep what?" a voice came out of the medbay, it was ratchet.

a quick glance at the cat on raf's back was all he needed to know before calmly asking.

"why is there a cat in the base?"

"miko brought it here" jack said, miko kicked him in the foot.

" well it cant stay here so put it back!"

"miko found it in a trashcan so i dont think we can-" another kick from miko shut jack up again.

"i have cats at my house, i can keep it for the night" raf raised his hand. "also can we get the cat off? its claws are getting into my back...".

jack tried to walk towards raf before the red cat hissed at him again. ratchet shook his head.

" please tell me that thing isnt flea infested or worse, is carrying any human-illness. i dont have the time to deal with a rapid animal."

"other than its messy fur and its attitude, i think its safe to say out little friend here isnt flea ridden" raf sat down on the ground to let the cat hop off. the cat was wary around him but seemed much more comfortable with raf than it was with miko or jack, or even bulkhead.

a ground portal then shot out revealing optimus prime, bumblebee and arcee, all three who had just come back from an investigation on abandoned mine operation. 

"Anything to report optimus?" ratchet responded

"Nothing im afraid, the mines were empty of any decepticon activity" optimus spoke.

arcee took a glance at the kids.

"whats that?" she pointed to the cat.

"miko brought in a wild animal" ratchet said with a bit of annoyance.

"yeah! can we keep it? im sure it will be useful for when the scraplets come back!" miko exclaimed to optimus.

optimus, bumblebee and arcee all looked at the cat, optimus bent down on one knee and reached his finger towards the cat. the cat warily sniffed the finger and then backed off.

" im afriad we cant keep it, miko. this "cat" doesnt belong here but where it truly belongs. outside." optimus said, getting up.

" plus im not sure how the cat would help with scraplets, its not like it can eat them" arcee mentioned too.

bumblebee beeped a few sounds over to raf. " miko got it from the trash, but were going to bring it over to my house for the night before returning it back. i hope you dont mind bee"

bumblebee beeped another couple sounds over before crouching down to take a closer look at the cat, who stared at him with huge eyes. the cat then scampered off over behind raf to avoid bumblebee's gaze. bumblebee beeped a few more times to raf before backing off from the cat. 

" well yeah bee your a bit huge, of course your going to scare the cat" raf replied to bumblebee.. raf proceeded to walk up the stairs to the tv area they had. the cat, although warily, followed suit.
