Chapter 2

It had been a while since the Druun attacked, but Y/n was determined to make things right. He had crafted his own axe and sword, and he was prepared to defend himself and fight. He carried a bottle of water with him as he walked through the desert, searching for the missing piece of the gem. He didn't want to take the gem for himself; he just wanted a chance to bring Kumandra back together.

Meanwhile, Raya was riding on Tuk Tuk, who was in his ball form. As they went by, Raya saw the people who had been turned to stone by the Druun. She pulled down her mask and looked out at the desert, then pulled out a map and marked her location.

Raya: (exhales) Please let this be it.

Tuk Tuk was distracted by a creature and began to chase it. Raya tried to get him back on track.

Raya: Whoa! What are you doing, you big fur bug? Hey, buddy, focus. Eyes forward, Tuk Tuk. Good boy. You're so easily distracted.

Suddenly, a Druun appeared in front of her and knocked her off of Tuk Tuk. It began to approach her, but she quickly pulled out a piece of the gem to fight it off. The Druun retreated, and Raya looked back at Tuk Tuk, who was laying on his back. She slowly pushed him back onto his feet and continued to ride with him until they reached a shipwreck.

Raya: Six years of searching, and we end up at a literal shipwreck.

She proceeded on foot, but before she could enter the shipwreck, she heard heavy footsteps coming from behind her. She reached for her sword and pointed it at the approaching figure. It was Y/n. She didn't trust him, and for good reason.

Y/n: Settle down. I'm not looking for a fight. I just want to help you. You have to believe me.

Raya: Why should I believe you? What reason do I have to trust you?

Y/n: You're being cautious. I know that you don't trust me, and you have every reason not to trust me. I know. After what happened last time, I can't say that I blame you. It's okay, I won't attack.

Raya: For all I know, you would just pull out your weapon and use it on me so you could steal my gem and run.

Y/n: Good point. But I promise I won't. So just promise me you'll stay cautious and be mindful of me. And I think it would be best if I have to earn your trust. Allow me to do so. As soon as you stop pointing that sword in my face.

Raya hesitated for a moment, then lowered her sword as he requested. She was still wary of him, but she was willing to give him a chance to prove himself.

Y/n: And just for the record, I'm Y/n from before. I didn't betray you. Namaari did. You didn't see me try to take the gem, but she did. And what about Viroch? Have you ever asked about him?

Raya: You make a good point. But I still don't fully trust you.

Y/n followed Raya inside the shipwreck, and they came to a complete stop.

Y/n: Just so you know, I didn't plan any of this. I didn't plan on being here, or any of it.

Raya sighed and took off her shoes. She knelt down and motioned for Y/n to do the same. She lit some flames and pulled out the necklace that Namaari had given her before she betrayed her.

Raya: Sisu... I don't know if you can hear me, but I've searched every river to find you, and now I'm here at the very last one. There aren't many of us left, and we really need your help. To be honest, I really need your help. I made a mistake. I trusted someone I shouldn't have, and now... (sighs) the world is broken. Sisu... I just really, really want my ba back. Please.

Y/n knelt beside Raya and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. Raya began to sing.

Raya: (singing) 🎶 Suvaa de draa sim. Mandela de draa lim. Bavaa de draa tomben. 🎶
