chapter xii.
It was the day of Charles and Kat's official first date. The two were going bowling, it was a fun activity that they both enjoyed so they agreed it was perfect. They waited til their scenes for the day were all complete before heading to the bowling alley closest to set.
"First one to the car drives!" Kat announced, racing to Charles' car.
"Hey, wait for me!" He exclaimed, taking longer, quicker strides after her. He caught up to her just in time to watch her win. She had a cheeky grin on her face, Charles found it adorable.
"I win!" Kat giggled, holding her hand out for the keys. The man shook his head, but put the keys in her hand and walked around to the passenger side. Kat unlocked the doors and they both got in, making sure to buckle up.
"Please don't crash my car," Charles said with a chuckle and puppy dog eyes. Kat lightly grabbed his chin, lifting it slightly and giving him a fake pout.
"Don't worry, I won't." She assured him before starting the car and taking off. Since she was driving, Charles decided he would be the D.J. He knew both Kat and himself really liked Big Time Rush, so he cued up all their best songs.
"Wooo! I love Big Time Rush!" The girl cheered, turning up the music slightly before she started singing along. "If I ruled the world, I'd throw all my money in the air life confetti, if I ruled the world— come on Charles, sing with me!"
He was of course hesitant at first, but soon enough he joined in. Something about her made it hard not to give in, even if it was something as simple as singing with her. He waited for a few versus before he began singing, "So everybody get up, up, out of your seats! Kick off your shoes like you're down at the beach, jump up, up, up, on the beat singing aye oh, aye oh, aye oh!"
The man kept going, Kat was in awe. She didn't know Charles could sing nor did she think that he would sing. It was something so small that not a lot of people would do with her— well, except Jordan. She quickly realized what she had just thought, her heart starting to race a little bit. She quickly wanted to shake that thought off, she was on a date with Charles. She knew she shouldn't have been thinking about Jordan, she should be focused on her date. She gulped to herself, then continuing to sing along with Charles while she tried to forget about that little thought of hers.
They arrived to the bowling alley and paid for 3 games for the two of them, splitting the cost then they each paid for their bowling shoes. They went to their lane and picked out bowling balls, setting them down before putting their names in the machine. Charles giggled to himself as he set player 1's name to "daddy kat" for her. Kat rolled her eyes with fake annoyance before softly moving him over, deciding to set player 2's name for him since he did that for her. She decided on the name "mami" for him. They shared a laugh before Kat started the game, knocking down 7 pins right off the bat.
