One Month

Annie's POV

"Leonhart! Visitors!" A guard said bringing me out of my cell and into the meeting room. I sat down and saw none other than Jean and...MARCO?!

"M-Marco? B-but... how?!" I asked in complete shock

"Hey Annie, it was Hange, and her science. I'm back for a month, but after hearing about what happened I wanted to see you. How've you been?" He asked

"I've been feeling really guilty, I never meant to hit you Marco, I promise!" I said feeling tears start to well up

"It's alright Annie. I understand. You don't have to feel sorry about anything." He said

"And Jean, I'm sorry that I took Marco away from you. It wasn't fair and I hope you know it was a complete accident." I said looking at Jean

"I know it was an accident... but I can't forgive you yet, I only came because Marco wanted to see you." He whispered

"Okay. I understand" I said to him looking away then back at Marco "so how long have you been back?"

"Only about a day. But I heard you were getting out. That's great!" He said with that sane smile from a month ago

"Yeah. Good behavior. And since it wasn't the impact that killed you, but traffic preventing an ambulance, I couldn't be completely blamed for it."

"Well, that's great! We have to go because we're meeting Eren and Mikasa for lunch soon, but let me know when you get out. Bye!" Marco said standing up and interlocking his hand with Jean as they walked out.

"Bye." I said expecting to be taken back to my cell, but then someone else sat down. It was that captain.

"Leonhart, you better stay away from them. I don't trust you around Marco and Jean. So when you get out you better not talk to them. Got it." He said glaring at me

"Yes sir. But why do you care so much? You didn't even know Marco."

"I was the detective on his case, remember. And even if I don't show it, I care about Jean and his friends. Goodbye Leonhart. Now go back to your cell" he said leaving me there in shock as an officer came and escorted me back to my cell
