Chapter 8

What's this? K/DA daycare chapter?

Yes, my good fellow, this story is back for at least three chapters.

Gonna be honest, I completely forgot what I had planned for this book so I'm just gonna BS till I find something that works.

Keep in mind, this book was one of the early ones I wrote, which still had my older style.

I've changed it since so it's gonna feel a little different.

That being said, enjoy!

I stood and dusted myself off with a chuckle.

Ahri, stood firm in her anger and berated the group for listening in on the conversation.

They look around frantically trying to explain the situation.

They seem like good friends...

I smiled and step in to save them.

I'm glad you found people that care about you, Ahri.

Me: "Relax Ahri, I'm sure they meant no harm."

I turn my cheery smile to the group.

Me: "Besides, I don't care if they were eavesdropping. I got nothing important enough to hide."

She sighed and pressed her hand against her forehead.

Ahri: "It was supposed to be between you and me."

She crossed her arms, looking genuinely upset. 

I placed my arm around her shoulder.

Me: "We have all the time in the world for you and me, but we won't always have the precious friends we have right now."

Kai'sa, clearly the most kindhearted of the group, spoke up.

Kai'sa: "Well said~"

Kai'sa readjusted Maria in her arms.

Kai'sa: "In all honesty, we wanted to make sure our Ahri was safe with you."

I snort.

Me: "Last time I checked, Ahri can dash around as she pleases and uses fire more than expertly enough to turn me into a burnt chip. "

My ability isn't anywhere near powerful enough to stop her.

Me: "Even if she didn't use her ability, mine isn't much use in an altercation of any kind."

I shrug.

Me: "Though I do understand your distrust, rest assured, I would never hurt Ahri."

I flashed the group a reassuring smile.

Evelynn seemed not too impressed with me. Meanwhile, Akali and Kai'sa seemed chipper at my reassurance.

Akali: "That's dope, guy. Wanna eat with us?"

I shook my head.

Me: "I don't have the time right now, I've gotta head in for work soon."

I slip into my sweater.

Ahri: "But we just got here."

I feel a tiny hand pull on my pant leg.

Ina: "I drew a new picture! I want you to see it!"

I twist my lips to the side.

I still have to get to work...

Me: I'm sorry Ina, but I've got a job to do."
