Jackson's POV.
I try to be the first one gone because being around them isn't really helping. I know leaving them alone probably isn't the best idea, but at this moment in time I don't really care. I back out the driveway and get going down the road a little faster than I should be going, but the mind fog is so heavy right now that I don't even realize until I pass someone going the proper speed and it sets in how fast I'm really going.
I reach the police station at 7:58 and sit in my car for a moment knowing this is the first day of work without my best friend. I sigh as I open the car door and head inside for what I know is already going to be a very long day.
