Werewolf ~ Part 5

Words: 2204

Dan's head was on Phil's lap. He smiled to himself as Phil played with his hair, he adored it when Phil did that. He let out a content sigh and Phil smiled down at him.

"You're adorable." Phil chuckled. Dan didn't even argue. He simply opened one eye to give him a playful glare before relaxing back into his mate's frame. Phil sighed and leaned back against the tree they were resting on. "What could possibly cause Dan to change?" He thought in frustration. He wanted Dan to stop hurting and getting rid of the curse was the first step. Then, hopefully, Dan could feel more comfortable in his skin and come to terms that his mother's death was out of his control.

Phil's mind wandered back to the day it all started, it played through his mind like a recording from start to finish. Phil frowned when he still couldn't find anything, he then decided to think further back in case there were any hints from before Dan turned into a Werewolf. He thought back to the night before Dan's birthday and how they had sat in the same position, only Phil's head was in Dan's lap. Phil smiled fondly at the memory before thinking over what their conversation was about.

Suddenly the smile wiped off his face and his eyes went wide.

"Yeah, that's pretty cool ... did you know I born on a lunar eclipse?"

"Really? That's cool."

"Yeah."

"DAN!" Phil suddenly shouted, startling Dan. He yelped and fell out of Phil's lap. "OH IT'S SO FRICKING OBVIOUS HOW COULD WE NOT SEE IT?" Phil exclaimed, making Dan flinch at the volume and look at him like he'd gone crazy.

"What are you on about?" he asked.

"The lunar eclipse. You told me the night before your birthday you were born on a lunar eclipse." Phil explained and Dan's eyes went wide.

"Wow ... I am really stupid." Dan frowned.

"Come on! There might still be time to fix things before the moon comes up." phil encouraged and grabbed Dan's arm - dragging him behind.

"Whoa!"

Dan slammed another book shut. "For fuck's sake." Dan growled.

"Language." Phil smiled softly, earning a scowl from his boyfriend. "Don't worry - there's still 2 more books we haven't checked. I can go over them tonight." He reassured.

"Thanks Phil." He smiled then looked at the clock and sighed. "We should get going, it's twenty five past ... You don't have to come y'know." Dan bit his lip.

"I want to see you off." Phil smiled, pecking Dan's cheek.

"Yeah, but I still don't want you to get hurt!" Dan pouted.

"It'll be fine, don't worry. Oh, I've been meaning to ask - doesn't your wolf remember how to get back?" Phil frowned.

"No, it's like my memory is wiped when I turn on a full moon - it doesn't know what to do ... other than destroy." Dan sighed.

"Oh, ok." Phil nodded and kissed Dan firmly on the lips to cheer him up. Dan smiled into the kiss - happy that he had Phil there to make him feel better. "We better head off then."

Both of them ran through the woods as fast as they could. Dan didn't shift - in fear of accidentally starting the process early. He tried his best to keep up with Phil who was in his wolf form and soon enough it was time for both of them to depart.

"I should start heading back. The full moon will be out in an hour so I should go back to the pack house." Phil smiled sadly and pulled Dan close in a tight hug.
