What a pain... He thought, sitting down at a table while waiting for his meal. Whether it's an upper moon or not, I can accomplish this easily. But do I have to drag her along? Giyu groaned slightly before laying his head down on his arms. An Upper Moon was all they had to kill, and then they'd be on break for a while. He was just thinking of skipping the break altogether, but instead, she spoke up that it wouldn't be a problem. Was it a nice thing to do or was she just messing with him as usual? Then again... there's no way in hell she could fight an Upper Moon by herself. Not being that frail. And poison can only get you so far-

"Hey there!" Someone greeted. Talk about speaking of the devil. "If we're going to go on this joint mission together, at least try to put an effort into cooperation. It would be helpful!" Shinobu teased. "Don't you think so?" she sat across from him at the table as she waited for her order. "Being alone again?" she asked.

Giyu gave her an expression that was somewhere between shut the fuck up and go to hell, her only response being that simple laugh of hers. It is cute but simple.

"Here is your food," Someone called out. Giyu sat straight and thanked the man as Shinobu did so too. "Salmon Daikon again? You must genuinely limit your nutrition," she complained. Giyu had ignored her as a smile plastered across his face as he ate, catching her off guard. "Well, I haven't seen-"

"Be quiet."

"Have you-"

"Be quiet."

"... Tomioka-?" She asked. A moment passed without either of them saying anything until Giyu spoke up. "There's hardly any female around town, I noticed," he stated. Shinobu took a minute to look around and realized she was the only one in the restaurant. "Looks like we've got a pervert on our hands if you ask me," she teased.

"Well I didn't ask you, and if you hadn't noticed, that's the most obvious thing in this situation."

"..."

"Sigh it sucks that place is going out of business, huh?" Shinobu whined. "It had such great food. I mean, even you enjoyed it!" Shinobu whined, walking faster to catch up to Giyu, who was quiet again. "Yeah," he mumbled.

Giyu came to a hault.

"What is it?" Shinobu asked. "Was that sound just now-" Giyu cut her off, "It's here." The two of them drew out their swords immediately as they looked around. "It's closer," Shinobu says, being serious despite the smile on her face. Giyu scanned the area as he noticed her hesitation. An Upper Moon indeed, he thought.

For the next few minutes, the only thing the two of them could hear was each other and the silence around them. But they could feel the presence of this demon coming closer and closer.

"Eh? I never thought I'd see such a familiar face before! Or could it just be something you're wearing?" The demon called out.

Shinobu gasped, accidentally bumping into Giyu. "Calm down," he suggested.

The demon came down from a tree, landing a few meters away from them.

Shinobu clenched the hilt of her sword tighter as her breathing began to grow faster. "You.... you..."
