"N-Nemo probably needs time t-to think." Hans stuttered

Everyone just stared at me. Eyes waiting for me to break or say something.

"Guys it's time to go, the commander could suspect something." Oliver broke the silence

Nobody moved even after that. Silence rung throughout the room. I didn't want to speak to these people.

"How are you feeling Nemo?" Oliver smiled while looking at me

Even being asked a question I didn't speak. They lied to me. This whole time I was an outcast. They don't deserve to know how I feel.

One at a time we all started leaving the stuffy basement. I kept my head down not wanting to see them. Maybe now I'll actually be able to breathe.

Of course I was stopped when Yakov stood in front of me. He gently grabbed my chin and studied my face. Still quiet though.

"You have nothing to say don't act like you do." I walked up the stairs

When I reached the top I almost knocked Oliver off his feet on accident. The basement door got locked a few moments after I left. I knew Yakov was after me so I quickened my pace.

I didn't want to think. Nor feel.
Especially see Yakov's apologetic face in front of me. He would apologize and I know I wouldn't be able to be mad at him. But this is serious and I can't let him get in my way.

Tonight I could be killed just like Bernard Shultz. Possibly see them everyday and know who I'm living with. Feel terrified and not be able to sleep. Broken and cry the rest of the day.

I need to make a plan. One to get out of here soon. Never been seen again. Not even by anyone that I had once trusted.

"Nemo!" Yakov ran up and grabbed my hand

"What do you want?" I asked

"Don't be made at me."

"Yakov you all lied to me!" I yelled

"We didn't lie! We were trying to protect you." He claimed

"Protect me from what!?"

"Yourself, we knew you would act like this and blame yourself for not realizing."

"Of course you guys think I blame myself. I blame all you!"

"Then why do you look like that?" Yakov rubbed my cheek

"Because-" He cut me off

"Because you blame yourself for getting close to us Nemo."

"You want me to help you guys with something I don't even know." I said

"If we stay here we need to stay safe, we can't stay safe without knowing why the General is so interested with us."

"Why don't we leave?"

"What?" Yakov was shocked

"Don't act shocked. You're the one who proposed to run away many nights ago." I replied

"It's dangerous out there."

"So? If it's dangerous here we might as well go."

"You're stupid Nemo." Then Yakov kissed me

*Later that night*

"Nemo wake up!" Someone started shaking me

"What do you want?" I opened my eyes

"The building is on fire!" Yakov yelled

"Yakov what did you do?" I replied getting out of bed

"This is our chance to leave." He said and grabbed my hand

"Where are the others?" I asked looking around the room which was empty

"They've left already! We need to catch up to them!" Yakov started dragging me out of the room

When we walked into the hallway smoke filled my lungs. This whole place is made of wood, so it'll burn quickly. I started coughing from all the smoke.

"Nemo I'll be right back, okay?" Yakov let go of my hand

"Where are you going?"

"I have to grab something. I'll be outside in just a moment so go without me." He smiled slightly and walked into the linen room

We were so close to getting out. Whatever he's grabbing must be important. I looked above me and seen the roof on fire.

"Yakov hurry up!" Then it fell and landed on me

I laid on the ground getting burnt. Yakov walked out of the room trying to pull me out from under. He lifted the wood ending up getting burns on his hands.

"Hurry! We need to get outside!" Yakov yelled

I hurried and got out from underneath. He dropped the wood and we both ran outside. Heading towards the broken wall we left the area.

We finally made it out.

"Yakov you said you guys wouldn't get injured!" Doris sighed

"It's my fault, if only I grabbed what I needed before." Yakov laughed nervously

"You were supposed to protect Nemo! But he's more hurt then you." Ruf yelled

"I'm fine really." I looked at my leg which was severely burned

"I'm surprised he was able to run here." Helga said

"We should've just planned something else." Oliver commented

"I hope everyone died in that fire." Yakov smiled

"That's harsh! We didn't want anyone to die, we wanted a distraction." Doris pouted

It's difficult knowing what everyone has done. But I guess that doesn't change that they make me happy.

They all are very different. Each unique but we all enjoy each other's company. Except Yakov, he still hates Oliver. But deep down we all know Yakov cares for him.

"What was so important that you made Nemo get injured?" Ruf asked

"A ring." Yakov winked at me

"I knew it!" Ruf started jumping
